We don't have a super "wintry" winter in Los Angeles, but we do get massive arctic storms that pound us with rain for several days straight in the winter. Los Angeles is situated between the ocean and some quite tall mountains though, so when these storms come its pretty easy to drive up into those mountains and find them covered in snow.
