Two quick announcements.
First: After writing 340 chapters of Godslayer Lysette in 13 months, I am well and truly burned out of the story and need some time to get my head sorted and prepared for Volume 5. As such, I'm implementing a one-month billing pause as I probably should have done a couple of weeks ago. I will downtier chapters in two weeks and in four weeks' time, on February 23 and March 9.
I am hoping that by then, I will feel sufficiently refreshed to c...

For those not in my Discord server, I have officially signed a publication deal for the Godslayer Lysette series. Right now, this agreement will not affect Patreon or my patrons in any way.
However, this does mean that Godslayer Lysette will be moving to Kindle Unlimited (KU) as part of that deal. In accordance with KU exclusivity, this will require that the chapters and downloads currently on Patreon will need to be deleted, just the same as 'stubbed' work...

Chapter 285: Alliance
Zarielle and Lysette took the seats of honor in the center of the raised table, still floating through some sort of artifice unbeknownst to Lysette. At first, she had suspected some sort of solidified air. It was well within Rayleigh’s ability to create a mass of solidified air strong enough to keep a table or three suspended on top of it and keep it maintained for an hour or three. For senior acolytes utilizing artifacts to suppor...

Chapter 284: Lysette’s Concerns
Shortly after dusk, Lysette roused from the bed in her temporary cottage in Ereill and began to dress herself for the night ahead. At first, she had been offered a beautiful sequined evening gown of iridescent black, but with her avatar’s chiseled, masculine appearance, wearing a dress looked more than a bit silly.
And so she, with a bit of help from Nightshade, chose a flowingly-tailored suit. A shirt of silvery white ...

Chapter 283: A Familiar Reunion
Lysette was ushered to a small and rather-dreary looking cottage just outside the main temple proper. After being rushed into the main temple itself upon her arrival, Lysette had little time to explore and take in the vastness of the greater temple complex. Now, however, with little to do but explore and wait until Zarielle’s next summons, she spent much of the early morning strolling around, taking in the surroundings and occa...

Chapter 282: Divine Machinations
Lysette turned around at Zarielle’s declaration and stood in petrified silence. Though it was merely her avatar before the Lady of Shadows, she still winced with the entirety of her being, causing ripples that made even Mirae flush with worry from two thousand miles away.
Her love wrapped around her back as the two sat upon their bed in their small cottage in the quiet town of Ciricu. It was shortly after midnight in Ere...

Chapter 281: Parallel Worlds
Zarielle smiled. But rather than a warm, welcoming smile, it was the sort of toothy, gleeful, sadistic smile of a predator staring down its next meal, knowing that she was in complete control of the situation. That nothing transpired without her leave, and that all existed by her mercy or amusement or because they had yet more roles to play in her grand game.
The pressure in the room again built, and Lysette was grateful for h...

Chapter 280: Ascension
Lysette furrowed her brows at the wording of Zarielle’s declaration. On and on she talked about pawns promoting, about sacrifices and moving pieces into position. All as though everything were part of some elaborate game.
Is that how all gods see the world? As mere pieces in some game of gods?
Finally her curiosity, built up over several months, erupted outward. “Zarielle, I need to know something.”<...

Chapter 279: The Grand Temple
If any part of the exterior of Zarielle’s temple could be called plain or ordinary, that criticism didn’t apply to the interior. There were no mounds of gold or statues of pure silver, or even collections of the most advanced artifice on Aimarion awaiting Lysette as she followed Dennell into the antechamber. But there were plenty of paintings, relief carvings, and statues of both granite and some black stone scattered throughou...

Chapter 278: Trek Across the Continent
Lysette spent the remainder of the day walking through the relatively quiet port and stockyard nestled right along the coast. Though it was only relatively quiet by the bustle that would follow once sunset arrived. The snoring and snarling and groaning of sailors half-asleep or in booze-induced stupor filled the dockyards alongside the smaller daytime crew handling critical and time-sensitive stocking and repair projects.<...

Chapter 277: The Shores of Ereill
The arrival of dawn at Lysette’s back coincided with the first bits of land cresting over the northwestern horizon. As more and more of the continent came into view, Lysette saw not a frigid snowscape cloaked in endless darkness, but an inviting beach with pearlescent white sand. Further inland were grasses of green and trees of pine and spruce not unlike the forests further north of Ciricu.
And the continent was of a size worthy of ...

Chapter 276: Leviat’s Negotiation
Lysette hovered just outside of the reach of Thosse’s Kraken as she began communicating to it telepathically. She and the Kraken stared one another down, all while the crew of the Night’s Reach stood onboard the ship’s deck with a mix of disbelief and indignation. Indignation that only grew when Lysette batted away a second barrage of attacks aimed at the aquatic beast.
“Do you have a name? Or somethin...

Chapter 275: The Denizen of the Deep
Pandemonium reigned on the deck as the entire crew of the Night’s Reach scrambled to positions. Curses from sailors flew through the air like leaves through a forest grove as teams of four prepared each of the vessel’s six harpoons— two on each side, and one each near the front and the back. Lysette could not yet see any signs of their assailant from beneath, but the turbulent waters and the pelting mists of seawater f...

Chapter 274: Inevitable Encounter
Shortly after finishing her meal, Lysette retreated back to her quarters to reflect upon the conversations from the previous day. She closed her eyes as she sat cross-legged in the middle of her so-called bed and allowed her perception of physical reality fade away as she took to active Cultivation for the first time in quite some time.
Her Garden in the middle of her vast soulscape was richer and more vibrant than it had ever been before.&n...

A series of more detailed and esoteric etiquette lessons followed from dusk all the way until dawn. Everything from where one’s eyes were expected to point to in which order one was expected to greet and shake hands with to which utensils to use during each portion of a formal dinner. Although Lysette paid attention throughout the twelve-hour lecture, one constant thought continued to force its way to the forefro...

Chapter 272: Matters of Hospitality
Lysette roused her avatar from its torpor atop the wooden panel that pretended it was a bed, though as she stretched and readied herself for the night ahead, a sudden bout of turbulence swept her off her feet. If not for sprouting her wings in midair and using a bit of her power to keep herself aloft, she would have certainly tumbled face-first onto the rickety floor. Instead, she floated back to her feet and did a few more m...

Chapter 271: Voyage on the High Seas
Lysette shuddered and the ship shook and rattled as the anchor upon it was raised up and Wind Cultivators steered the massive sails on the ship known as the E.S.S. Night’s Reach. The sound of creaking wood and the bellows of sailors shouting crass obscenities at one another filled the air right along the scent of salt and sand and the crisp ocean breeze. Winds shifted in the area immediately surrounding the large diplomati...

Chapter 270: To the Sea
Sunrise came far too soon for the deific couple. The false dawn’s first light and the dimming of the stars twinkling in through the window was the cue for Lysette to rouse her avatar and prepare for the journey of thousands of miles which lay ahead. She stood with Karchek’s body as she lay beside Mirae with her own, stretching both in perfect synchronicity as she again adjusted to moving two bodies at once.
Her avatar walked ou...

Chapter 269: A Night Without Worry
Mirae turned to Lysette with gritted teeth as Zarielle’s messenger left the cottage and closed the door behind him. Their eyes filled with indignation as they glared at her, completely bereft of any amusement or their usual warmth. The air around them chilled, though Lysette wasn’t made uncomfortable and Aurie didn’t seem to notice.

Lysette grabbed him a plate and set it down along some utensils and a small glass of ice water.

Another three weeks passed and still no signs of incoming Tereans with their army to try to take Ciricu back for their own. Perhaps, Lysette thought, this was a tactic wielded by the Terean forces.
