Joplin is partnering with a French government institution to bring you innovative new features! We will work on accessibility, voice typing, HTR and add Rocketbook integration. Today I'll present the planned improvements to voice typing:
Right now, voice input works pretty well, but there’s one thing that still needs improvement: punctuation. Our current system is accurate, but it doesn’t pick up on things like commas or periods, which can make spoken text harder to understand. That...

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) in Joplin enables the transformation of text-containing images into machine-readable text formats. From this version you can enable OCR in the Configuration screen under the "General" section. Once activated, Joplin scans images and PDFs, extracting text data for searchability.
While OCR search is available on both desktop and mobile apps, document scanning is limited to the desktop due to resource...

For all Apple fans out there, just a reminder that we regularly create an iOS prerelease too! If you have an iPhone or iPad your help is welcome to test this release and report any issues!
Like the desktop or Android prereleases, we try to make them as stable as possible so that you can use them daily. Additionally, any issue you might find will be given a high priority and we'll try to get it fixed as soon as possible!

I'm having a look again at this feature:

Those are just examples but I was wondering, if you are a plugin developer or user, what list-based plugin wo...

On 1 and 2 April 2023, we will have a stand for Joplin at the Journées du Logiciel Libre in Lyon, France. The JdLL has been taking place in Lyon for 24 years and is a popular open source conference in France. We had a stand in 2020 and 2021 but that was cancelled due to Covid, so this year is a first for Joplin!
Admission is free, so don't hesitate to come and meet us, exchange ideas and learn more about Joplin!
