I originally wanted to make it about something else, but yesterday I realized how suggestive the second frame looks and changed my mind lmao
Anyway, Jay doesn’t really shave the right way, he never had a father, so basically there was no one to teach him how to do it properly without hurting his skin
Chris could have taught him, but Chris didn’t want to admit for the longest time that Jay was old enough for that, so Jay basically learned to shave on his own, or by watching how Sam...

Jay doesn’t really like having any facial hair, he usually removes everything because he hates the feeling of having anything extra on his face
But during his more depressive episodes he stops caring, so in a way the facial hair is kind of a reflection of his inner state
Though probably no one knows that except him

In the meantime, here’s a little about Jay’s relationship with God
He grew up in a religious environment, went to church, and even though he wasn’t as devoted as his mom, he still believed in God
And now he carries a deep resentment

I’m finally back home and can get on with work!!!
Today I thought I’d do a quick sketch and imagine what they might’ve been like if the trauma had never happened
Jay would probably have built his whole life and identity around Chris and ended up being a lot like him
Adil, on the other hand, would most likely have felt freer to express himself and been way more relaxed and open

It was a rather awkward thing for Adil, though not because he didn’t want it. As for Jay, he hadn’t felt not alone in a very long time, just like he hadn’t felt the comfort and warmth of touching another person’s body in ages

I think it’s funny that in their fantasies Adil’s hand plays a different role
But Adil’s fantasies are more realistic, Adil is a retrained left-hander, he wouldn’t push Jay away with his right hand, he’d use his left (to pull Jay closer lmao)

Jay’s biggest fear is being even a little bit like Chris
He realizes that Chris basically raised him and was his role model since childhood, and he finds a lot in his own thinking that resembles Chris’s way of thinking, and that terrifies Jay
