"We have confirmation?" Elania asked.
"Yes, from the Queen herself," Taylor replied.
"I'd thought it would actually take longer for the first person on Earth to reach tier eight," Elania muttered.
"The Queen took her position as a symbol to delve continuously, demonstrating that she could protect her citizens," Taylor said. "You've been delving in between cabinet meetings. It's unreasonable to expect that you'd be the first person to reach tier eight."
"The...

"I can't even," Jessica shook her head, the normally loquacious blonde at a loss for words.
"I want to ask both how, and maybe more importantly, why?" Amanda said as she eyed Bob's Eternal Servants.
"They eat leaves," Mike said suspiciously. "I saw it in a documentary once. The leaves aren't even good for them, but they eat them exclusively."
The group was standing near the edge of the glacier, watching as Bob demonstrated his Eternal Servant

Bob left the meeting with the King of Greenwold in a daze.
Out of everything he'd been afraid the King might want to talk to him about, he hadn't seen this coming.
The problem was, the King was right. Bob owed him.
He could argue that the King got the better end of the deal, convincing so many people from Earth to stay on Thayland, collecting literal tons of crystals from leases and taxes, as well as achievements.
But the truth was that Bob knew that the King had...

I feel compelled once again to ensure that all of those reading understand the King of Greenwold's voice is that of Burn Notice era Bruce Campbell. His majesty cannot properly be appreciated otherwise.
"Your Majesty," Bob nodded deeply.
"I'm glad to see you've progressed enough to escape your self imposed exile," Kellan smiled.
Ericka, his draconian seneschal, hadn't escorted Bob to the King's throne room or audience chamber, instead guiding him to a small din...

"I cannot stress strongly enough the importance of keeping your Mana Sight spell at its maximum level," a male voice instructed.
Huron had guided Bob deeper into the Church, and they were nearing a set of double doors.
"While Shadowmancy lacks both effective combat or utility spells, as a ritualist, it is of equal importance to your primary school, be that Animancy, Invocation, or one of the four Elemental schools."
Bob heard another voice, this one indistinct as they arrive...

Bob could count the number of times, as an adult, that he'd wanted to hurt another human being on his digits without having to take off his shoes. Or even unzip his pants. Despite wading through oceans of monster blood and viscera, he considered himself a peaceful man. He'd rather walk away from a situation that made him upset than endure a confrontation, at least, when the only one being abused was himself. He'd learned that he couldn't walk away from the gross abuse of his fellow man when h...

Bob had always loved the practice of physics. It was one of the main reasons he'd ended up at Fermi, where he could actually utilize the particle accelerator. He was willing to work on the theoretical side of the fence, but what little he'd enjoyed of his time at Fermi had been those moments when he could actually perform an experiment.
Magic was like physics, only better. Most of the time.
"It worked, mostly," Bob muttered as he rubbed his jaw gently.

"Bob's level twenty," Jessica reported as she looked at her tablet.
"Shit, it's going to take us a while to catch up," Dave sighed.
"It took us just under three months to cap tier seven," Amanda reminded them. "We're doing just fine."
"I need a break, though," Jessica complained.
"No breaks!" Amanda said sternly. "Only leveling!"
"At least we've been able to cycle through Glacier Valley, poor Bob has been stuck in one Dungeon," Dave ...

For each personal threshold reached, the user may increase the base cost of the spell being modified by one, further increasing the repetition of the spell effect by one.

Summon Mana-Infused Object was sort of an odd spell. The hardness of the material was determined by his spellcasting value, but it was also determined by how large the object he summoned was. Stainless steel silverware hadn't been a problem, despite his spellcasting value not being quite up to the task, but a block of steel wasn't possible. He'd had to suffer with an incredibly comfortable mattress on a rather delicate bedframe, which creaked alarmingly whenever he or Monroe shifted....

I don't have a good way to include my beloved tables. I sent another email to Patreon's support team, but given their radio silence on the matter over the past year, I don't hold out much hope for a fix. I'm considering throwing up the spreadsheets I use for character sheets so you guys can see them. Any interest in that?

Sorry folks, I tore up the nail bed on my ring finger, which made typing a delicate and at times, painful, process.
Also, these next few chapters will abound with System windows.
Bob sent his Effect Over Time UtahRaptor, which would last all of twenty seconds, through the portal. At level fifteen it was able to do a lot of damage in those few seconds, and he waited two seconds before following, releasing the portal spell and summoning out his rapto...

Bob had to remind himself that maniacal cackling was villainous behaviour and shouldn't be indulged in. It was just hard to resist as he watched his three UtahRaptors tearing through the Gwarli patrol.
His glee was tempered by the fact that the Gwarli he was facing were now level eight and had been provided paths by the System. He didn't know the exact details, but it was clear that the patrols now consisted of a beacon, a skirmisher, and a support. Against a single UtahRap...

The whole change to natural Dungeons had its ups and downs, but if Bob had to point to one single aspect of that change that annoyed him, it was that the Dungeon didn't change as you leveled. Sure, the monsters would become more powerful, adding new abilities as you leveled up that you'd have to account for, but that was it. The scenery never changed.
The scenery in the Hidden Dungeon was actually quite pleasant, and ideal for their current underground existence, but from his experience...

The thing about Systemless casting was that it took effort. You had to visualize the pattern, push your mana out to form it, adjusting for the fluctuations in the ambient mana, then energize the spell. Some spells were simpler than others, while some locations offered less interference from the local mana.
Casting a spell with the System was effortless. All you had to do was will it to happen.
Losing access to his Summon Mana-Infused Object spell hadn't meant tha...

His end reward for completing the Dungeon had been one hundred and twenty mana crystals, instead of six hundred.

System Updating to revision 3.0238b
While the System is perfect, it must exist in an imperfect multiverse. In universes where there are no sapient beings, there have been no anomalous issues, providing evidence that the System is indeed perfect, and all faults are user inflicted.
This update specifically addresses the many, many deficiences exhibited by the various sapient species operating under the benevolent administration of the ...

Another chapter run through prowritingaid. It seems like it's catching my grammatical errors, misspellings, and abuse of the common comma. At least it isn't making it worse, which was what grammarly was doing.

So, the past two chapters have been benefited from the use of prowritingaid, a replacement for grammarly. It seems to be doing the job of finding my grammatical errors, and it has the benefit of actually working, something grammarly hasn't done for over six months. The downside is that is very cumbersome to use, taking an hour and change to go through a chapter. Hopefully as I become more familiar with the software that will decrease.

The crux of the issue was that it was never a good time to reincarnate. There was always something hanging out in the background that would be nice to take care of first. The list was long, and it just went on and on, with people adding to it at every turn.

Korldon Astaides, formerly the High Priest of the Church of Light, lay spread eagle in the center of the ritual circle. His screams had become dull rasps as his vocal chords frayed and snapped from the strain.
Kellan Garvades, Defender of Greenwold, Blessed of Vi'Radia, Sovereign of the Skies, was carefully carving lines through both the marble slab beneath the bound figure, and through his flesh. He paused only to 'ink' the lines with blood drawn from his tongue by his own claw, the lu...

She hadn't expected the mortals to have any real knowledge of ascendancy, but they'd surprised her. Bob's use of pure mana manipulation to dispel her Create Earth spell had been another surprise, and one that she hadn't fully considered at the time. It was rare for anyone in the ascendant tier to attempt to master mana manipulation, and it was unheard of for a mortal.
