Athena gets yard time for the first time!!

Sorry this was taken from a bit far but I didn't want to disturb her pounces. 🥰

Yesterday Athena had her first time out in the play yard, she was shy at first and wasn't immediately showing her excitement. But after some time of calm exploring... She got super excited! Started playing and pouncing. 🥰

Howdy everyone, Russell here!

I broke my phone on Saturday somehow so the only way I was able to get photos this week was with my camera, so I got quite a few for you all today!

I'm quite proud of a few in this batch but without a doubt the Stevie photo is my favorite. Maybe I'm a little biased though.

Out of curiosity I checked, and I have taken 3500 photos with this camera already!

Have a good week everyone!

After over a week of quarantine while waiting for the new fencing to be put up, the foxes can finally go back in their yards!

Yay for upgrades!

All of our old red changed have been upgraded for newer, bigger, and better cages!

This isn't the only upgrade around Save a fox Minnesota! We have so much more to show you guys. I apologize for being behind on these updates as this has been probably the busiest few weeks in SAF history.

We are all very exhausted. So we can't wait until we have completed all the upgrades!

New name!

This handsome boy has been with us in Fl for a few months now, but he finally has his sponsor and name! Meet Pogo! His color is snowglow, so Pogo the snowglow. He lives with Kitchi, Chilean, and now Big Red (still waiting for his sponsor). He is one of the many that came from the fur farm and now living his best life!

Firefly does NOT share well

She's been bullying poor Mufasa away from treats. She's sweet as can be until food is involved.

Me too Firefly. Me too...

Back to Zooooming!

Juji was declared fully healed and is finally able to re-join her friends to run and play!! A huge shout out to the staff at UF zoo med for helping her! Check out the radiograph to compare with the original one I shared.

Since the assumption is that she fell from the loft, we are adding railings to each and every loft area, so hopfully something like this never happens again. This one is still in progress. These guys definitely keep us busy!

I'm back yall! Well, sorta.

I got a TON on my plate still and can't guarantee I'll get good photos every week to post. But I'll certainly try!

I played around with my lighting settings this week and got some photos of Pan I think are print worthy!

Have a good week everyone!

New Faces at Florida

We have three new boys joining us and all three are super sweet already! One even has the cutest underbite. We are currently trying them out with other foxes to find the perfect matches. Since they are new, they do not have names yet. Those will be chosen by who ever sponsors them.

We also have another male who’s been with us for a bit now, but I’m not sure you’ve seen his face yet. He is the SnowGlow in the last photos. He also doesn’t have a name yet, but has been living wit...

Teacup update!!!

Hey everyone! It's Kaytee here with some good news. Teacup, Tilty, and Funguy are out of quarantine!!!

Although things didn't go quite as we hoped, all three foxes are out of their quarantine cages and are in much bigger outdoor enclosures.

Teacup and Tilty are actual sisters and shared a small cage together on the furfarm. We rescued Tilty first due to a massive ear infection which caused her head to permanently tip to the side, but we didn't have the room right away to take he...

1 month later.. How are the Pokemon foxes doing?

Howdy, Russell here!

It's been one month since I adopted the pokemon foxes. How are they doing?

AMAZING overall. We've had a few close calls with escapes due to unforeseen weaknesses but overall the foxes are safe, healthy, and all very happy. We are seeing behaviors from them at home that we never saw at SAF. They also LOVE the tall grass and weeds in their enclosure.

Overall, we couldn't ask for better. These foxes are doing great.

Goodbye Pokemon foxes!

Goodbyes are always hard, but some are easier than others. The Pokemon foxes were just adopted by our volunteer Russell!

They are adjusting well to their new home already and are being spoiled beyond belief.

Look forward to a video on their adoption soon.

Earning Zhivalgo’s trust

Every morning I’m able to, I spend time working on building a trusting relationship with Zhivalgo. It’s been very rewarding and as of yesterday and today, we reached a milestone!! I’m incredibly excited that both AMs she trusted me enough to take food out of my hand! I didn’t want to scare her with my overjoyed screams though!

I like to get eyes on her every day to ensure she is healthy and happy. That is the main purpose of these sessions. I can’t see her while she is in he...

Juji girl

Juji was seen favoring her left rear leg earlier this week. Unfortunately there is no clear understanding of how she injured herself, but she had fractured her femur pretty badly. My only guess is that she fell down from the loft area of the pen she shares with her family. Thankfully we were able to get her to the vet right away and she had orthopedic surgery to fix her leg. She now has a medal rod and medal plates to allow her to walk. We are watching over her very carefully and remain optim...
