From shooting with Corwin Prescott

From last week shooting wet plates with Corwin Prescott. He and Nicole Vaunt kindly hosted me for that portion of my trip, and I think they are in the top five cooks I've met on the road haha - best hot fudge sauce on ice cream I've ever had.

Yesterday at The Schuler School

I had a full day of art class posing yesterday...it's always surprising to me how exhausting that can be. I just sit in a pose for 3 hours (20 minutes at a time with 5-10 minute breaks) and do not move. I think it's more difficult when there's no music or conversation happening - which is what posing at this particular school is like. I really love working for them as the quality of the art and the artists is so high.

Tomorrow I'm traveling to Philadelphia and staying with the lovely Fre...

Last week I had, possibly, my strangest shoot experience so far.

I was traveling with another model (Kira Floofie) to a location near the Oregon coast where she had a shoot with another photographer. My plan was to focus on shooting self portrait work (which will be uploaded as soon as my icloud adjusts itself) and perhaps some landscapes. We arrived, and the photographer was waiting there with his friend Samantha, who was busily writing in her journal on the little river beach we settled into...

Last night's Wifi...

Was non-existent. My sister, as it happens, has no wifi in her apartment yet, so I will be uploading tonight once I'm back at my place.

I'm visiting my sister tonight! And I'll be busy working too (she's in law school so is studying even when she has visitors). I'll be uploading and writing things later. I'm hoping to get the travel folders updated for sure. Which is difficult ...I took so many photos in the past month it's a bit much haha.

And I actually have seven photo sets still waiting to be uploaded...not just one or two. So. This is what I'm going to be busy with over the next couple of days haha...I did not realize how much I'd been photographing. Plus a travel folder set.

Gabriola Island | Moss

My goal this week is to find a patch of ferns in a secluded-enough area with a minimal number of gross bugs, and to shoot in the ferns. This is my goal, it would make me so happy. Today I found a bunch of ferns with spiders all over them, which is very unfortunate considering.

As always though, green moss is everywhere in the Pacific Northwest.

I arrived in Vancouver early yesterday, and after scurrying my way through the airport and customs, I began what turned out to be a very long trek to Gabriola Island. First, I hopped on the skytrain (which cost $8 for a short ride I found out), then a bus ride populated by hyper children, and finally got on a ferry across the Bay to Nanaimo Island. From there, another ferry over to Gabriola Island. And then a short taxi ride. And all of that only took about 5 hours - or, as long as a flight from...

I just bought a chromebook to carry with me while I'm traveling. I've been sporadically posting in bursts with my photography recently as I really did not want to carry my Macbook with me on the road - damaging an expensive laptop that should last me a few more years is not a goal of mine.
