Can I tell you just HOW MUCH I LOVE writing the voice of Prickles? OMG -- he's so fun!
I find it really important to try and give each new character a certain nuance in the way they speak -- a "flavor" that kinda identifies them as an individual. With normal human characters, that's sometimes a bit tricky to do, but with a nut like Prickles... BRING ON THE CRAZY!!! There's no end to how out there he can be.
Also, I dunno if you guys noticed the "TINTYPE" remark he makes on page 3. ...

For this page, I bring in a LOT of intense orange in the colors. I think for me, this bright, jarring color among all those blues, grays and browns sorta signifies Zachariah's descent into madness.
I fought the orange for a good while... I didn't want to break too far from my blue color palette... but sometimes, you just gotta do what's necessary.
Anyhow, I think it serves the story.

OMG -- there was so much to say here! Prickles is a frikkin' talker, Man! Half of what I wrote didn't make it onto the page. LOL! This was just one of those sequences when you write and write and write and, well, shit's gotta get trimmed for the greater good, otherwise all the art gets covered up, and no one wants that!

I'm also a MASSIVE HORROR FAN, and the atmosphere of ROSEMARY'S BABY really inspired me for this new comic. The feeling of that creepy, huge upscale New York apartment building overlooking Central Park is what I was aiming for the setting.
And of course, as you'll see with page two, the master of horror himself inspired me greatly. Poor, sweet Zachariah... there are nasty things in store for him! ...

So, like all the stories I created for JACKO'S HORNY HALLOWEEN TALES #1, I used a very simple color palette and opted for cell shading for this new chapter. I hadn't used blues in the previous three stories, and this color scheme seemed to suit the mood of Zachariah's adventure very nicely.
