BUS DECONSTRUCTION

a friendship is born

I got this lil guy from a friend last summer. He sat in a briefcase waiting all winter to join me in New Orleans only to get passed around and left in storage. Finally, in June we were reunited. I left my clown car far north and flew away with Rapscallion for a little adventure.

I’m starting to wonder if any of you read these things, but never the less, I feel compelled to share. Recently I looked at the “exit surveys” for folks who stopped subscribing as a patron. “winter” goals and posters

Last “winter“ in New Orleans I partied allllll tooooo much. I didn’t play enough music; instead I listened. I consumed as much live music as a I could. New Orleans is incredibly saturated with talented musicians; jazz, jug bands, country and folk and on and on and on. I decided at the end of summer of 22, that I would commit myself to playing more myself.

Freestyled a silly song "Ball Sack" New Orleans

I made it to New Orleans! And I've been booking shows called Originals at Okay Bar highlighting folks original music. This particular night we had an amazing house band come together - together we freestyled a song called Ball Sack. I asked the audience for a theme and the people spoke, unanimously with "Ball Sack."

I wrote this song Goodbye in fall of 2018 after returning to Alaska and saying goodbye to a problematic lover - ya know when you can’t even figure out how to be friends but over the years you try again and again to watch it all burn in flames… No? Oh just me? Haha

Itchy Feet - sneak peak

Y’allll are soooo patient, kind, and supportive. I recorded this back in June of this year, while traveling through Yellowstone. Yellowstone by the way, seriously lacks Indigenous representation and involvement - it‘s so beautiful but all the shops just come off as a big money game to profit.
