I have written over 30 pages of script already, but I'm not done yet. This is why I was scared to start this series before The Violinist and the Nerd ;;; It's not super super long, but I don't think I can finish season 1 within a year (I say season 1 because if it goes well I have material for a season 2, but if it doesn't it can end there just fine).

Meet Ethan the bear! He's 25 years old.
He's the one who changed the most since the 2013 design. I remember that back then I wanted to give him curlish hair, but I didn't know how to draw it *dies* I realized most characters had spiky-ish hair and it was a bit monotonous... So I tried redesigning him a bit now.
He'd be Izumi's favourite character since he loves bears (laughs).

I think that for the comic I'm going to make his hair more like the 2013 design, I realized I like it more that way only after I was done with the 2021 design (=w=;;; I'm also including a little sketch I drew of him in 2017 (I drew him from memory).

The message I've been trying to give the whole series is that you don't need to be the very best at what you do to succeed and be happy. I feel I succeeded with this manga, in the same way as Izumi succeeded as a small videogame creator and Demian succeeded because he can still work as a musician (both at Sara's place and on Izumi's games).

Demian playing the violin at Sara's pub was one of the first images I had of season 2. It is not explained in the manga, but Sara's pub is a place for artists and alternative people to gather. At first I considered making new characters for it, but I quickly discarded the idea when I created the plot about Eiji instead. In the end, Demian working at Sara's pub is only part of the end of the season anyway.

I've been struggling with the outfits for these two ladies for the epilogue for two days now. First I designed Kei with something I would wear only to realize they're not at that point when it's cold enough to wear THAT ( ' v ' ;;; *FAILS* So I had to start again and design something more fitting. All I want is to draw characters in big cozy winter clothes, that's where I find happiness.

Izumi always becomes strongest when it comes to defending Demian. He feels lucky to be able to work on videogames, which is his biggest passion, and he wants the same thing for Demian: to live his dream.

Demian feels a mixture of guilt for knowing how badly he hurt Eiji in the past and the impact he made on his life, but also hatred because of what he just did to Izumi (even though he's not sure yet what happened, he's now certain it was Eiji's fault). It's a very complicate feeling to deal with.

A lot of people told me "I hope Eiji gets fired". He can't get fired, he's the boss and owns the place. At most he could get sued of Demian or Izumi wanted to.

As a reader you can avoid putting yourself in Eiji's shoes, but as a writer I have to and it's really... painful... ( . - . ) What he did wasn't right, but he's so full of sorrow and regret for the story he wanted which could not and will never happen. I can't help but suffer for him (but I'm the author, I'm meant to suffer for all my characters no matter how good or bad they are).
