Above, Puzzle pieces float off the ground far into the yonder, where we can see a puzzle piece shining like a moon. It looks like a magical and soothing place, a countryside with some ancient castles. Underneath these floating parts, we can find an underground society. Living in tall buildings reaching almost the planet's core. Probably the busiest area of this yet unexplored planet.

Many thorn-like structures lead you on a path to a harbor, guiding you through mountains until you reach the guardians of this place looking like dragon seahorses with pink glowing eyes. Are they alive, city buildings or gatekeepers? In the far distance we can see an alien moon shining light on the icy surface and clouds.

Advent Speedpainting Calendar - Door 15

Imagine a landscape (blue, green, yellow) being rolled up, surrounded by clouds and fog. Underneath, we can see the colder grey-blue floor tiles with mandala patterns. Small robots have already cleaned up dust from centuries ago. No worries, the residents moved to a new place until the carbon dioxide reached a healthy level again.

We are somewhere in space and can see the stars behind the clouds. In the center of our attention is a bowl with intricate patterns and broad noodles in blue, purple, pink, orange,yellow colors.

A lush green scenery with purple and blue fields and streams. The inhabitants of this alien planet worship giant rocks (at least 4.5 times larger than their highest building). They feel safe in the light and in the shadows of these rocks. Crops and fields on these large stones nourish the green cities. Dragon Island, where the cities occasionally do not sleep.

It's the annual carrot festival, celebrated with a picnic. Many rabbits congregate with cozy picnic blankets and the most delicious carrots of the season. One of those blankets in the middle is especially colorful (rainbow colors) and reaches far into the distance. Everyone tries to get a view on snowy Mount Carrot, visible in the background, covered by light fog. Stories of rabbit climbers and ancient mythologies are being shared.

Imagine a landscape where the trees look like lamps in all forms and sizes, on and off. Mist surrounds the mountains. In the sky we can see a glowing planet. Since the new artwork needs more time, I want to show you a closer look at the butterflies.

At first, one could think it looks more like a single butterfly. In this position (wings from above), in real life, one butterfly would look like a dead butterfly.

WIP Books in Blender

The 3D mockup in Blender is ready to be painted over for the next artwork.

Here you can see a small part of the render, a few books I've created for the scene.

This is a great small exercise, and you can find public domain covers and wonderful tutorials online :). The books can be bent with proportional editing for a more old and used look.

They are not perfect, which is fine because only a rough reference is needed.

Hello everybody.

I hope you are having a great late summer. I finished the next tarot card a few minutes ago.

For this card, I chose a snow leopard as the queen proudly wearing the most precious crown in the whole ice kingdom, extra fluffy fur for protection against frosty times, and demonstrating strength. A necklace with an icy sword pendant is the other part of the jewelry as a subtle warning.

This confident, young, impulsive ostrich is very determined and full of energy. I chose this animal because of its speed (they can run over 70 km/h) and I thought the spots on its neck would be a great way to add a more subtle sword symbol.
