Yes, I still have other projects I am working on. No, I am not abandoning them.

I just finished a very labor intensive page of Awaken, my wedding dress picture with Blaze keeps crashing my art program because of how detailed it is, A Dog's Mother's progress is coming along at a snail's pace and I've trashed probably thirty concept sketches for the next Student Exchange entry because I'm happy with none of them. What's old is new again. Suddenly, Torch's embarrassing dad sunglasses are "vintage".

Dragons primarily use sunglasses to reduce headaches when readjusting to the light of the sun after spending decades sleeping.

Smolder was incredibly proud of the dress she made in Professor  Rarity's garment sewing class, using floral curtains and a white table  cloth she found at the Ponyville thrift store, and matching plain fabric  gifted by her generous teacher for the skirt.

Frost dragoness

In the Frozen North, beyond where even the most hardy yaks will  attempt to settle, a secluded group of creatures make their home in an  area called Coldsnap Heights. The name leaves little to the imagination.  These icy peaks are inhospitable to most forms of life due to the  bitter cold, making the location the ideal roosting spot for the frost  dragons, who are rather solitary and completely impervious to  hypothermia.

It is rare for a dragon to relax to the point of going completely limp,  whether they are awake or not. Dragons are naturally primed to face  danger at all times. But Smolder feels so secure in the presence of her  big brother that even her subconscious mind lets down its guard.

What I've got going on

Hey everyone, I'm posting this update to let you all know what's up.

Last month I flew to Washington to have my pacemaker replaced. While the procedure was minimally invasive, it is still taxing to fly, undergo surgery and immediately fly back. Especially when you're getting used to new medication that messes up your cycle and immediately get hit by the worst vertigo episode ever afterward.

I've been recovering from this dizziness since the end of August. I also saw a doctor today...

Ray

I know it sounds like I'm making this up, but Ray the dragon has been an  OC of mine since before Sunset Shimmer's pet gecko was ever revealed.  He was always yellow and he always had that name.

Since the  universe clearly meant for this to happen, I decided to just roll with  it and make his design match that of the gecko. I didn't have to change  very much at all.

Blaze not having it

To many  dragons Blaze is a total enigma, a piece of an otherwise logical puzzle  that just does not fit. She's certainly pretty, the dragons reason, but  Torch isn't the type of dragon to break with tradition and create a  whole new, extremely powerful position for her just because of that. I'm starting to sound like a broken record but things really have been crazy. We had a pending sale on our home in less than two days after listing it and we're scrambling to cover as many items as possible on the repair addendum while looking for a new place AND preparing for school, on top of managing the household and a bunch of health appointments.

Super busy, super dizzy

We put our home on the market yesterday and we are getting overwhelmed with requests for showings. We don't have a new place to move into yet. It's a tight market so that could present a problem. Pensive young Garble

Garble has been enamored with his little sister since she hatched  and the feeling was mutual. Being a young dragon, Garble was able to  handle his little sister much more safely than his parents were. Smolder  was therefore entrusted to him much of the time. Garble took this  responsibility very seriously.

As Smolder grew  bigger and began idolizing him, he relished the adulation. But Caldera  worried that Garble's need to be his sister's hero would result...

Back in town

Hi everyone,

I am back from Washington. My pacemaker has been replaced and I am recovering well.

The procedure wasn't very invasive and I should be able to resume all of my usual activities within the next week or two.

Hello everyone,

I am happy to let you all know my college mess has been sorted out (for the most part) and if all goes well I'll be attending school as a part-time student in a few months. I'm both excited and relieved.

I'm still entertaining guests and getting carted from doctor appointment to doctor appointment, though. I also have to travel for medical care soon. The scheduled procedure is minimally invasive, so I should be fine.
