Hope everyone is having a solid summer/winter! Headed into our favorite season here in Japan as things cool off a bit. The video series is making it's way through Shikoku, a series I've actually quite enjoyed editing, hopefully it's been a fun watch too! Have you had any bits you've specifically enjoyed?

It's August, it's hot outside! In July we finished up our series from Kyushu and started up our Shikoku series. We also had a couple of other shorter videos we got up, I personally was happy to finally share our Tanabata with everyone.

Here is part two of our exploration around Shikoku. We had a pretty wild class to make udon, saw some crazy bridges, rode a really weird monorail and ended up eating breakfast at a love hotel. Enjoy!

We had so much fun in Shikoku and have been very excited to share all the things we found. On top of that every now and then we make a video that nails exactly what we want to be producing in terms of balance of content, pacing and good memories of the filming process. Our final stop in Kyushu was Kagoshima City! A good representation of a mid-sized Japanese city with a stunning view of Sakurajima, one more shorter video on the way to tie up the series. Then onward to Shikoku!

Eric's favorite day of the year in Japan is Tanabata! Since 2014 we have headed over to Idabashi's Daijingū shrine to leave our wishes for the year and they always seem to come true! This year we had some rain which kept the crowds low but it was still as magic as always.

Welcome to July! June had us working our way through more of Kagoshima and starting what I expect to be a semi-regular series of little finds during our lives in Japan. In fact I'm already working on the next one. Without a doubt the most amazing moment from these videos for me was seeing Sakurajima erupt, I still can't believe how lucky we were to be there at that moment. In the past few years Tokyo has really stepped up their artisan burger game and while we've been eating them we haven't made a video about burgers in a while. We were turned onto a new burger shop here in Tokyo by a friend (who lives in Austria! haha) and decided to drop by and check out their wagyu burgers. Enjoy!
