Another Epic MegaGrant

Epic Games has granted us a $25,000 Megagrant for the purposes of creating more assets and improving usability of our assets in Unreal.

Moving to the new Cloud

So following the implosion of our Nextcloud server on Monday, we've had to move to a new one.

Unfortunately I could not do a clean migration as the old server was not fully accessible, which means:

Nextcloud is Down

Our Nextcloud server spontaneously combusted today, so for the next day or two while I figure out what the heck happened and how to recover it, unfortunately you won't be able to access the cloud for offline access, sorry :(

You'll know things are working again when https://cloud.polyhaven.com is accessible. If any user/account migration is necessary I'll make a separate post about that later.

Dev Log #01 (and #00)

I realize now I forgot to post here about our Dev Log last month :) Better late than never!

It's just a simple series of blog posts we're going to write every month to summarize what's been going on with everyone at Poly Haven.

This month we talk about new hardware all around (RTX 3090! More ram, hdd, CPL flash), an issue with Google AdSense throwing us off the boat, and of course previews of all the upcoming assets.

HDRI Haven Patreon page renamed to Poly Haven

I've just renamed this page from HDRI Haven to Poly Haven :)

If you haven't heard yet, we're joining forces with Texture Haven and 3D Model Haven to create a single new platform at polyhaven.com.

It's still going to take us a few more months to create the new site and fill it with some new content, but in the meantime we're functioning as a single platform already.

New Server!

Last week we had some severe instability issues on the site, resulting in error messages on some pages and general slowness.

I'm not 100% sure what the cause was but I'm on the fence between just general growth of the sites reaching a tipping point, and another DDoS attack on Texture Haven. Both Texture Haven and HDRI Haven were running on the same server, so they were both affected.
