Timelapse HDRI goal reached!

Woohoo! ๐ŸŽ‰

We just passed the $2600 mark and reached the Timelapse HDRI goal!

The idea of this goal is to allow me to carve out some time to work on building a fully automated HDRI rig which will allow me to capture a sequence of HDRIs continuously to form a timelapse of changing light and weather patterns.

I've already begun designing the first prototype (I couldn't resist), but now I can dedicate some real time to researching everything required - right now I only have some basic electromechanical knowledge that comes from screwing around with motors and 3d printing.

There are of course existing motorized pano heads available commercially, but they're quite expensive and I really want there to be an open-source DIY solution for anyone else who wants to do something like this.

This will also be a prerequisite for our next goal - Drone HDRIs - since those need to be shot hands-free too, and the experience I gain while building this will be important when I build the custom drone.

This is a big project, and I still have a bunch of things I need to work on for 3D Model Haven first like creating dynamic zip files to download the assets more easily, and creating the scanned books for the cover design contest, so it may be a few weeks before I can actually focus on this properly.

Big thanks to everyone who helped us reach this goal :)  I'll keep you posted how the progress goes.

Sorry, but better buy Nodal Ninja Mecha. Pano head is not only about rotation, but also about precision of this rotations. And Fanotec already proof that his panoheads are best for pano works.

This is awesome! Personally I wouldn't go out to use this and shoot HDRIs myself but I would love to see some timelapse HDRIs on HDRIhaven. I'm curious to see where this project goes next!
