Hey Everyone!
Hope you are doing as well as can be. I'm in the midst of designing all the packaging for the new album, Creatures of the Late Afternoon. The idea is to package the 2LP with a "turntable board game." The game uses special tracks cut at the end of each side of the record (not part of the digital album). There will be spaces on the game board that require the players to try some basic dj techniques like backspinning/record juggling, simple scratches, beat...

WARNING: This is an early assembly of a few minutes from Act 1 of the tour mockumentary we started working on. More to edit, more stuff to film. FOR YOUR EYES ONLY!
A couple of years ago, I had decided to do a bus tour of North America around the release of The Floor Kids video game. We thought it would be fun to document the tour in some way.
Instead of doing a "band on the road" doc, we decided to use the down time on tour to create an absurdist tour mockumentary of ...

This was my very first studio recording. The year was 1986. I was in sixth grade. The town where I lived, Vancouver BC, was hosting the World Exposition: EXPO 86. It was on the site where the Vancouver Science World and Olympic Village are today. In it's Plaza of Nations, there was Studio 86, one of the more popular attractions at Expo 86. Basically, it was an interactive installation that was set up to look like a "professional" recording studio. It was complete with sound-proofed vocal boot...

My cousin Kenneth aka Monkmus directed and animated the video for Fender Bender. He sent me these storyboards prior to starting the animation. Mainly to see if I liked the concept.
It arrived in my actual mailbox with a cover letter saying "Hey Eric, Here are the "Boards". It may be a little hard to follow in this format, it works a lot better in story reel form (I'll send the story reel next week)... Numbe...

Hi Everyone!
If you had to choose one quarantine puzzle activity... which of the following three would you prefer?
By the way, this may or may not end up being a Carpal Tunnel Syndrome 20th anniversary thingy. I have to look into the logistics of it all but I wanted to get a feel for what the puzzle people on here would dig.
Let me know!

Hi Everyone!
Just wanted to give you a little update on the new album. But first! here's a picture of a proof from the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome cover from decades ago! Back in the age of the compact disc! Remember those?? When the pressing plant packages your CDs or vinyl, they send you these proofs before your disc goes into production. Essentially it's a big sheet with a few unassembled CD or LP covers on it. It's your final chance to check for printing errors before they start th...

For those of you who enjoy watching somebody in the present play a video game from the past. This is a clip form the Vinoids video game that was included on the enhanced CD of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Many people didn't know the game was there as you had to insert the disc into your computer's CD drive to find it.
It still works but in order to play it on current computer system you need to use a legacy Operating system.
I made the sound effects on the turntable. It was a fun...

Although technically true of all moments, every now and then you experience something you are acutely aware will never happen again... or at least not in the same way. One of those times for me was the day of this performance. Many moons ago, Deltron 3030 was invited to perform on The Late Show with David Letterman.
Growing up in the 80s/90s I would watch David Letterman often. I'd especially enjoy the segments with the musical guests. How our alt-hip hop group ended u...

Dear Patrons,
I hope this message finds you safe and healthy. Just doing a little check in with you.
The times are turbulent. And very necessarily so. My screen time spent reading the news is at an all time high. I've seen some of the most hopeful and positive things happening around the world, and also seen the most shocking and terrifying things happening. I'm trying my best to tune in and navigate all of the information. I must say it's causing some whiplash of feelings, ...

This was the very first hip hop vinyl I ever bought. I was 13 years old. I bought it with my own paper route money. That piece of tape with the BPM written on it is decades old! Time flies but it still feels like yesterday. It was a 12" single from Public Enemy's album It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back. It was one of the 3 albums that convinced...

Seeing as it's the 20th anniversary of my debut album Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, I hope you don't mind me sharing a few stories about that "futuristic" time in the past.
It was the year 2000. Which at the time sounded very futuristic. The 90s were officially over. Y2K was going to usher in a slew of chaos with some technological shutdown, I don't really know, but I heard it had something to do with all the computer clocks not being able to switch to 00 after ...

At the time of recording this album, I was living alone in an apartment on St. Denis Street in Montreal. In that neighborhood, you would find a few of the best second hand record stores in the city... so it was no coincidence that I signed a rental lease there. Most of my days were spent walking and digging through record shops, stopping for some groceries, practicing scratching, recording, digging through record shops... repeat.
St. Denis was a busy four lane shopping street... Always ...

Wow! I can't believe it! Thank You everyone! We've reached our 3rd goal! Which means we can resume work on the debut Kid Koala storybook record!
I wrote this book when my first daughter was 4 years old. At the time, our days were filled with trips to library, (her favorite place to go) and also trips to the flea market (my favorite place to go). This story kind of fuses the two worlds. It is about a child who finds several lost, broken and forgotten machines in a flea market and the adv...

Here's a kind of silly but true story. In 2006, I released an album entitled "Your Mom's Favorite DJ". It was my third album. I had wanted it to feel like a continuous audio adventure (similar to the Scratchcratchratchatch tape). Although it was going to be released on vinyl and CD, I wanted to it to run continuously like it would on a cassette. Meaning no cue bands on the record, and no separate start IDs on the CD. *remember this tidbit of info f...

I've learned a lot of things from listening to records. But my earliest experiences with vinyl recordings were with storybook 7" read-along records. My mother bought them for me because she had read somewhere that they would foster a love of reading in preschool aged children.
Yes, I did eventually learn to read in school, but I think what these early record experiences mainly fostered in me was a fascination with the Audio/Visual world. We didn't have a TV when I was in preschool. Or a...

It was first debuted at MASS MOCA (Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art) where we did our first workshops of the Space Cadet Headphone Concerts.
This cassette jukebox was part of an audio/visual interactive installation that was part of our Space C...
