in may on 2013 I returned from my first ever trip to California and found myself, freshly out of college, without really anything to occupy my time outside of work.

I recall feeling this vague longing and angst to put myself out there and do something cool like so many other people my age were doing on YouTube, Twitch, and other platforms. I really felt like I could get my life somewhere that I'd be more happy with, outside of just having an okay job in my home state of Michigan.

PIERS' THEME from POKEMON SW/SH

I hadn't really planned on doing any more SW/SH covers but at this point I'm almost considering making a little pokemon sw/sh EP - maybe bede's theme or something to conclude the series...

the only problem is that to do that I'd kinda need the OST to be released in north america on digital stores, which doesn't seem to be a high priority for the publisher right now... I guess we'll see. Until then, enjoy the cover and keep an eye out for more I guess? Gimm...

I'm currently planning out the remainder of the touhou album and thinking of fun ways to promote it and maybe do a little package deal alongside the first album.

At this point I think it's safe to say that even after the second album comes out, I'll probably keep doing touhou stuff - it's actually kinda fun and relaxing for me since I'm so familiar with how ZUN writes his tunes now that I can typically get a cover done without much struggle.

DEVIL TRIGGER (FULL VERSION)

even though this is just an update of the short version, it was still quite a bit of work since the full version adds a LOT of sections... plus we had to retake some vocals and guitars, and I fully updated the mix and mastering on this one from 6 months ago.

I think I'm pretty happy with this one, all considered. I was putting it off for so long because I KNEW it'd be a lot of extra work... it almost would have been easier just to start ...

GYM LEADER BATTLE (Pokemon R/B/Y)

I've covered this one before... like 5 years ago; figured it could use a makeover.

I really like this track. Gen 1's OST is my favorite after Gen 3; the battle themes are mostly Junichi Masuda cramming as many notes and chromatic runs and dumb little melodic lines as he can into speedy, fast paced jigs (without making it pure nonsense) and I kinda sorta adore it.

Fortunately, the R/B/Y OST also works pretty well in my case since a lot of thrash and power metal genres are arrange...

DOLL JUDGMENT from Touhou
