A Piece of History

Hey, guys! I wanted to give you all an update as well as a little exclusive behind-the-scenes story regarding this month's premium scan (which only $15+ Patrons can access!)

This month's premium scan is something extremely special, historic even. It is the original, 1969 opening animation for one of Japan's most well-known anime, Sazae-san. This series has been running since 1969 on TV and is still ongoing today, making it the longest still-running animated TV series in history.

Hi everyone!

Short update. We just shipped about 13 boxes full of 35mm and 16mm films from Japan (some of which we've teased on here!) which cost us quite a pretty penny, and we couldn't have done it without your support. Thanks a ton for continuing to allow us to acquire more films for future preservation.

Hey everyone.

First of all I want to say, my apologies for February being so dry. Most of the month was far too busy for most of us, especially since I personally was on vacation for half of it. The fact that there was no premium scan for Patrons that month disturbs me and I will try not to let it happen again.

We have a bonus upload for this week! It's actually very important for preservation.

This is a promotional/marketing videotape for the cancelled 1997 OVA "QUOVADIS", which was based on the 1995 game for the Sega Saturn.

It features what is now the only surviving footage of the OVA, which was cancelled due to its production company going bankrupt.

Before this, no footage has ever seen the light of day, so this is extremely important to preserve. And ...

Upcoming Upload... It's a Premiere!

We haven't had a YouTube premiere in a while, so let's change that this weekend!

We're ready to premiere our brand new Domesday LaserDisc capture of the 1991 Ninja Ryukenden/Ninja Gaiden OVA! It's the best it's ever looked and sounded so we're excited to bring it to you, with newly updated and revised subs to boot!

We're planning on premiering this on Saturday, but you guys get to see some screenshots before anyone else! Enjoy!
