I have an exciting Work in Progress Wednesday for you guys today! I'm finally doing something I've been wanting to do for a while - making action figures of Sasha and Milla from Psychonauts. I'm not even halfway done with them yet, so here is an update on how far I've gotten. For reference, here are our heroes in their natural state. (Image Care of the Doublefine official merch store. WIPwed: More Psychonauts Drawings

I'm still in a big Psychonauts mood. This new swell is due to the Psychonauts 2 artbook coming out. The artbook is so gorgeous with all this really inspiring concept art. Psychonauts is my favorite game of all time and they're so good to share this stuff with us. Its almost magical and makes me hope it won't take another 15 years to make more. 

The second image is going to be painted b/c it was part of my tumblr call for prompts last week.

A couple weeks ago I got nostalgic for Halo, which then got me nostalgic for my 400 page Halo Fancomic, Company0051. It's coming up on its 15 year anniversary. I should do something about that. For now it was fun revisiting Chief and Sam however briefly and trying to remember how I used to draw them.

WIPwed: Calligrapher2

I know I promised to show off the illustrations for my new picture book this week, but I'm not quite ready to display those. Instead here are some concept images for the second Calligrapher book which is sitting in line right now behind Joshua 3 and Cat and Peter's beginner reader. The girl with the 'fro is Lyric and the straight-haired girl is the protagonist, Inka. Spare child is a spare child. The plot is mostly outlined, I just need to prose it. Next year hopefully!

WIPWed: Two turtles and a Sealyham Terrier

During the Holiday Market this weekend I had a little downtime and front-loaded a lot of Dog Store stuff for the future. The Sealyham Terrier is actually next month's dog breed which I will finish painting and post either tomorrow or this weekend. The turtles will get painted six or seven different ways and posted sometime in the future. I also illustrated an entire picture book on paper. I'll share that with you next week!

WIPwed Lackadaisy update

Ok I think this is the final design for my Lackadaisy fanart. It's taking me a while because of shows and client work, but I'm excited about this line work concept. They're going to be in a barn at dusk with a view of the Missouri countryside in back and a glow of distant St Louis over the trees.
