New parody song about the Dust Bowl

Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks" is one of my all-time favorite songs, but the lyrics are a bit...troubling, to say the least. In this parody of it, I "clean up" the lyrics with new lyrics about a lot of dirt.

Based on your feedback, I won't do these very often, but boy are they a lot of fun. Also be sure to check out Mr. Betts if you haven't already.

Nevada and Utah Compared

I have been planning this video for a long time, and I got a little "fancy" with it using Final Cut Pro. If you all like this video, I might turn it into a series. What do you think?

Happy Thanksgiving. I am extremely THANKFUL for all of your support.

This is a collaboration with Tristan from Step Back History. He has a companion video that goes in more depth about the life of Edie Windsor. I highly recommend you check out his channel!

Life in the Early 1800s

I recently had the pleasure of traveling north near Omaha, Nebraska to visit historical reenactors at Fort Atkinson. This video is a mini-documentary of the experience. This is probably the second time I have ever made this type of video, so I am curious to know if you like this format or not. Please let me know in the comments. If you enjoy this style, I will probably do several more like it.

Westside Community Board of Education v. Mergens (Sneak Peek)

Hey guys, here is tomorrow's video, the latest episode of Supreme Court Briefs. You may be wondering why I chose to cover this somewhat obscure case. There are two reasons.

1) I student taught at Westside High School in 2009 and wanted to film live on location there while I was in Omaha

2) I've been on a big First Amendment kick lately. This Amendment seems to be losing respect in the national dialogue, so that may have something to do with it.

I have a special kind of video ...

Why Are There So Many Springfields?

Sorry I couldn't get this out early this week. I was waiting on Loren from Lorenmakesart to complete the animations, and I'd argue it was WELL WORTH THE WAIT. They did an amazing job with this. Be sure to subscribe at https://www.youtube.com/user/ExpoMarker1231

Are any of you from Springfield or live within 100 miles of one?

The American President's Cabinet Explained (Sneak Peek)

This one turned out to be a bit more epic than I originally imagined. I realize, that by featuring Trump's Cabinet members for a video that is supposed to educate for awhile, that many of these members probably won't be around much longer at the rate Trump has been firing his advisors. Regardless, it was a lot of fun to make, and thanks to Ian for suggesting the video. Glad you got to add yourself to the video at the end. If anyone else is interested in doing something like this, let me know.&nb...

Supreme Court Briefs - West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette (Sneak Peek)

First of all, sorry I did not post a video last week. I am collaborating with another video creator who basically had equipment issues, so we had to put our collaboration video on hold. The good news is that this week's video is like a 2 for 1. It's two Supreme Court cases combined in one, that is. Enjoy!

Supreme Court Briefs - FCC v. Pacifica Foundation (Sneak Peek)

Thanks to Will for suggesting this case to cover in the series. I have always been fascinated by censorship, and George Carlin is one of my favorite comedians of all time, so I really enjoyed making this episode.

The Most Interesting American You've Probably Never Heard Of (Sneak Peek)

Despite spending the night in the ER due to appendicitis, I managed to complete this video today, and I am sharing it one day early with you. I wrote a research paper about Samuel P. Dinsmoor in grad school, and finally got around to making a video about the fascinating man after visiting his Garden of Eden this past summer. I think you'll dig it!

New episode of Supreme Court Briefs!

I'm sorry I didn't get this one out sooner to you guys. It's been hectic lately with school. Hopefully I will get next week's video out on time. I'm getting a little worried, actually. Anyway, enjoy. Episode 17 is about the case that justified the protection of certain kinds of hate speech. It gave us the important "Brandenburg Test." Hope you like!

Why do we have to go to school? (Sneak peek)

I didn't release a video today, because I am a joining a massive collaboration with a group of fellow Edu Tubers called WeCreateEdu. For the collaboration, I made this video, which will be released Monday. YOU ALL GET A SNEAK PEEK. I hope you get a chance to watch it over the weekend. It is sort of epic, but it would have been longer if I hadn't cut several parts out.

Here's to another great school year! Thanks for your continued support! Supreme Court Briefs is back next week with an ep...

Sneak Peek- Solar Eclipse Video

I am extremely excited for this total solar eclipse coming up on August 21st, which is why I made this video. I have literally been waiting for it as soon as I found out about it...ten years ago. I am also excited to share this video with you all three days early. Please let me know what you think!

New episode of Supreme Court Briefs

It's episode 15, the case the makes it difficult to fight police brutality!

I meant to get this to you yesterday, but I forgot. I am sorry. I worked on this video at the same time as my eclipse video, and I do hope to share that one with you extra early, so hopefully that makes up for it. :D

ABC, Inc. v. Aereo, Inc.

In episode 14 of Supreme Court Briefs, a company trying to show broadcast television on phones and tablets gets sued by, you guessed it, broadcast companies.

I will be releasing Supreme Court Briefs likely every OTHER week for awhile, as I don't want to get burnt out on the series and I want to try new things in an attempt to reach a broader audience.

Thank you for continuing to be awesome. :D

Thank you for your continued support. It means the world.

Next week, I have a collaboration coming up with Grant Hurst. I think you'll really enjoy the video, and the week after that, it's finally a return to Supreme Court Briefs. I hope you a...

History Geeks Take Over Vidcon

Sneak peek of tomorrow's video

Debs v. United States and Vidcon

Hey guys, I just got back from Vidcon and my brain really hurts. It was a really amazing experience. I got to meet some big time YouTube Edu creators, and while I made a fool of myself in front of most of them, it was still surreal that they actually took the time to help me grow the channel by giving me advice and taking my information. I met pretty much the entire staff of Crash Course, and every single one of them was so kind and approachable. Plus, I met tons of other edutubers (I think I li...
