Hi everyone!
Hope you're all keeping well. Here's a mid July-update on what's happening on historgraph at the moment.
At the start of this month I released the Battle of Heligoland Bight video. I was quite happy how the video turned out in technical terms, it had some very accurate plotting of the ships involved, but unfortunately the video itself hasn't performed very well on YouTube. I'm not entirely sure of the reason why, but I suspect the topic pe...

Hi everyone!
Just thought I would do a quick update to close off the momentous month of May. It's been a couple of weeks since I announced I would be trying to turn Historigraph into a full-time business, and I've been honestly really touched with the reaction to it. May has been one of the best months for new pledges and patrons for a number of years, and I'm very grateful to you all for your support.
The first Malaya video - on the sinking of Repulse and Prince of Wa...

It's finally here. This is the last video being billed on a per-video basis. In June I will be switching to per-month.

Hello everyone,
Following on from my announcement that I will shortly be endeavouring to turn Historigraph into a full-time business, here's a comprehensive update on my video plans for the rest of the year.
As I've said, from this weekend (22 May), my aim is to deliver two videos a month going forwards. Here's what is planned over the next few months
Malaya
As you're probably aware, the next series is on the Malayan campaign in late 1941/early 1942, c...

Hi there everyone,
It's been quite a while since I wrote one of these, for which I apologise. It's been a very manic few months in my day job over the last few months, which has meant that any time I've had for YouTube work has gone into quietly preparing the next series for publication.
You might know I made a decision at the start of the year to stop releasing videos at the horrible 12-week intervals, and instead wait to release a series of videos closer togeth...

Hello everyone,
Hope you are all keeping well in these uncertain times. It's been a quiet time on the channel lately- mostly down to my day job demanding a lot of time recently, and the first weeks of any year being a slow time for productivity (tax season and all that).
I have though been doing quite a bit of reading and writing with a view to getting some videos out on a more regular basis as we head into the spring. I'm taking the view at the moment that it might be...

Realised that I never actually published the post that charged for the Alexandria video in December, so doing that now.

Hi all,
I've managed to get round to opening up a Discord again. For the time being, and maybe forever, its going to just stay for Patrons, so its more manageable this time.

Tomorrows video, to be published on the German volkstrauertag, functions as a remembrance special of sorts.
As its a bit of a one off, I've decided to give all the patrons early access.
I hope you'll all be okay with the different lists of people at the end this time :)

Hi everyone!
This weekend I'll be publishing the next video, on the Battle of the Falkland Islands. It's the sequel to the video on Coronel from September.
This tells the story of the Royal Navy's eventual destruction of Spee's squadron about a month after this victory over Admiral Cradock. 4 German ships were sunk amid heavy loss of life. 90% of the sailors who fought at Coronel ended had been killed by the end of December 8 1914.
What makes this video dif...

Hi everyone!
So something important (and good) to say right at the top- there is going to be a new video next Saturday 21st March!
This is only two weeks after the last, and hopefully marks the start of more frequent content. It's not necessarily going to be every two weeks (at least while I remain in a full time job), but hopefully more regular.
On an admin point this will mean a second charge from Patreon this month; hopefully this isn't a problem after t...

Hey all,
Apologies once again for the belated nature of this update- you are probably wondering where the final Budapest video is (not to mention the other videos I have talked about in the past).
For those of you that don't know, my day job is on the community team at Paradox Interactive, working on Hearts of Iron IV. If you're familiar with the game, you'll know that there is a new expansion coming out in a week or two, and so I have been very busy at work lately, he...

Hi all!
So the channel passed 100,000 subs the other day, and to mark it I'm going to do another Q&A. Haven't decided whether this will be a livestream or a video, but you Patrons get first sight of the submission form, putting you at the top of the list.
You can ask as many questions as you like

Video now public!
Little note on the poster draw I mentioned at the end of the video: the $3 pledge requirement will only be for new patrons- those of you who were already here will be entered anyway.
Winner will be drawn shortly after publication of next video.

Hello everyone,
Don't worry, I haven't gone away. Yes, its been quite a few weeks since the last video, but the present delay is down to me having no internet (am on 4G as I type this) because of moving house.
I have no idea why it takes UK internet providers multiple weeks to connect you either! There is a video that is essentially done, but it obviously can't make an appearance until I have internet capable of upload.
There will be a full videos update once I a...

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick note to explain why I've been quiet lately. Don't worry, I haven't stopped working on videos!
Next up is a video on the Surrender of the German High Seas Fleet (1918) which I have been working on slowly for a few months, its now getting the point where it can be animated. This will be September's video.
Then we'll be concluding the Budapest series in October with a second video, and then to close out the year we'll be starting the Greece...

Hello everyone,
In the next day or so I will start the final animation stage for the first video on the Siege of Budapest, covering events up until its encirclement in December 24th;
Here are some sneak previews of some of the scenes' you'll be seeing in the finished video. I'm hoping to have this up this Saturday August 3rd, if all goes well.
Once it is up, expect to see a poll to help me forward plan for this autumn's videos.

Hello Everyone!
This is the first update on what I have now decided will be *two* videos on the 1944/45 Siege of Budapest. The reason for the split is to prevent there being no video for 2 months and then a 30 minute single video; I do need to do the subject justice and there is a lot of play.
The first video (27 July) will cover events building up to the siege until the encir...

Hello everyone!
As you can see above, the video on Plan Z has now been published after a longer than normal development time. This was mainly due to me being away during much of June, first on a work trip to Stockholm and then a holiday to Seville.
This video was for me about tying up a few loose ends, discussing some interesting things about the RN's and Kriegsmarine's preparations for World War 2 that I hadn't previously touched on. In particular the strange dance where bo...
