Trial by Conquest Line Art

Just received the line art back from the first of two artists I'm working with on this part of the project. To be honest, I'm not sure how to feel about this one. I feel the sketch had more character, and I'm not sure how much extra value this piece is going to add to the colourist when we move onto that stage. We'll have to see how the second piece of line art goes. For sure, some parts are better.

New update! One full scene and a part of the next one too. Be warned, it ends a bit abruptly —  like, in the middle of dialogue abruptly.

Also, I think I'm going to have to break this chapter up into two and change its name. Going to think about that for a bit.

Also, I've received some good feedback on the previous chapter, and as a result I've done some serous thinking about exactly how I want to proceed with various aspects of my writing — particularly in how I deal with sexuality. I now have some thoughts. I'll probably talk about this more in the next Monthly Dispatch.

New Update for Trial by Conquest. As expected, this chapter is going to be quite a bit longer than the last. I might actually create a new chapter after the current, 'interaction' with the spider Nymph, despite having quite a bit more planned. We'll have to see how much extra stuff there is to do before what comes next.

Hi all,

As you can see, the cover for Trial by Conquest is coming along.

A lot of the time spent in this bit of the project so far, has been finding a good background artist. I must have gone through hundreds of portfolios and bios to narrow it down to three who would give me the best chance of getting what I want. Even then, it's like panning for gold. The second part of the next chapter. A good long minor update. I actually had a chunk of this ready over the weekend, but circumstances stopped me from publishing it then.

The last scene for chapter four! Ends on a little bit of a cliff hanger, but only after closing out most of the open threads from this chapter. The end is pretty fast paced, but we really need to get to the meat of the book reasonably soon. i.e. base/village building.

I was planning on working on DP&SW tonight, but once I got to my favourite writing spot, I realised that I'd left the DP&SW document open on my PC back home, and so I couldn't open it on my laptop.

So I wrote some Trial by Conquest instead.
