Hey all, first and foremost if you were charged for June 2021, please submit a refund request now. I put the Patreon on hold back in April however I didn't realize I would need to do this every month. You only have 90 days from June 1st, so please do so at your earliest convince. I apologize for that.
As for the status of the translation: it is not halted. This Patreon is shutting down, and I have only kept it open to publish a final patch for the suppo...

Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing alright! I've finally got another patch release. I'm going to talk in depth about what happened over the past 5 months below, but if you'd like, as always you can just skip that and download the patch.
Causes for Delay
Alright, so there's a lot to talk about. Let's start with what happened back in early April. I had taken a couple months off translating as I'd been working on this project for over two years. I'm also in college at the moment...

Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well with the way things are in the world right now. I know it's been quite some time since I've updated you on what's going on. I was extremely busy during April-June with the end of last semester's classes and unfortunately I've been having some personal problems the past few months as well. I apologize for this affecting the normal release of monthly patches, however those are only some of the contributing factors.
A while ago I started getting D...

Hey everyone, as I said back in January, I took a month off! The February/March patch is a combined patch and hopefully will come out within the week! I'm still working on getting the keyboard reimplemented. It's quite difficult even using texture assets from Animal Crossing!
I just wanted to give a small update! Hope everything is going well for everyone. Stay safe, and I'll see you hopefully later this week! Thanks for your patience.

As I said before, I plan on taking about a one month break (I'll probably still work on the translation, I just won't feel the need to produce a patch haha) after New Horizons releases.
So, I thought it'd be a good idea to ask you all what YOU want to see in the February patch. I already have roughly 200 new dialogs (haven't counted them yet) ready to go plus all the weird text spacing issues will be fixed. Just vote on what you want to see and I'll devote my time to the most voted on i...

Hey everyone! I'm sure a lot of you ran into the nasty crash present in January's patch. That was entirely my fault. I forgot to adjust the data blob offsets after changing the size of the "Present" string in the inventory! It was a HUGE amount of work to adjust the offsets (there were easily a few hundred to update and verify), but the crash is now fixed!
There's still some weird text spacing which will be cleaned up in the February release. I'll be releasing that later this...

Hey all, hope you enjoyed the Animal Crossing: New Horizons direct! I personally think the game looks amazing! I'll be super interested in writing a save editor for it. Anyways, let's talk about this month's patch!
First of all, I apologize for the delay in the patch release. I reverted a few changes I made very early on that are still causing minor problems. This actually caused a lot of text to be R E A L L Y S P A C E D O U T. This was required though, as...

Hey again everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the holiday season! As many of you may know, I released the first public in-progress patch earlier in January. I do want to make it clear that I have no intention of releasing the monthly patches to the public. I simply wanted to show the progress that had been made in the past two years!
That's not the only exciting news for this month! You may remember that last month I spoke briefly about a tool that would transform my ability to work on the...

Hello everyone, I hope everyone enjoyed the Harvest Festival! It's only be a couple of weeks since the last patch release, but I want to get back on the 1st-of-the-month cycle. That means this month's changes are going to be on the lighter side. I've been spending a lot of time studying for the end of the semester and working on a new tool for the project that will hopefully allow me to finally translate the letters and message board posts! I'll go in depth about the project in Decem...

Hey everyone, let me start by saying that releases happening mid-month is NOT going to become the norm. The past month has been incredibly busy for me and I didn't feel like enough was translated to release during the beginning of November. The additional week has given me time to translate another 150 dialogs!
I also want to talk a bit about the patch creation process. Ever since we've begun using the custom patching program, I've had to manually create the patch files. This process re...

It's time for another revision! There were a few more crashes caused by bad offsets in code that I implemented after adding the logo. I've solved all the crashes I could find, so it should be in the same playable state as August's patch! I apologize for letting those crashes slip by me. I'll make sure to do more thorough testing in the future!

It came to my attention that a game-breaking bug was introduced in the last patch. The item name function's offsets were corrupted by the additional space taken up by the new logo, and was crashing the game! This post contains an updated version of this month's patch with a fix for the crash! I can't believe I didn't catch that one! Let me know if you run into any other bugs introduced by the new logo!

As promised, I'm back with the goods today! Undoubtedly this has been one of the most frustrating parts of the translation. While it may not seem that difficult at first, translating the simple title screen logo took somewhere around 200 hours between reverse engineering formats, making custom rendering & utility tools, and actually translating it! It feels amazing to be mostly done with the logo. I do want to move the e+ & TM text to the left, but I just did...

Hey everyone! This month's patch release is going to be released on Tuesday, October 8th. I apologize for delaying it, but I will be out of town for a funeral starting today through the 6th. I sadly don't have time to finish it up today before leaving. I made it a goal to finish translating the title screen before the patch was released, and after numerous setbacks, I finally finished it!
Here's a preview -- I post frequent updates in the Discord server if any of you want dai...

The final summer patch is here! August has been an incredibly busy month for me. During the beginning of the month I moved, I got a new job, and now I'm back to attending university. All that means that this month's patch is a bit on the smaller side, but don't let that worry you! There are still some great changes!
I don't have time this month to do a write-up on any difficult changes or new features, so let's get right into the change log!

One of the things that annoys me the most about the original games is Blather's blather when you donate an insect... The slow dialog that he repeats each.. and.. every.. time.. I've always wished I could just do away with it. So, I've got a poll for you all!
I've got a few ideas on how to change it! Please pick an option below so I can get an idea of what the community wants. This will NOT change his unique donation dialog for each insect.

A little known feature in e+ is the ability to import players from a Doubutsu no Mori+ save file present on the same memory card. It's very similar to City Folk's Wild Wold player move feature.
Would you like to see it changed to allow for importing from Animal Crossing instead? I've already translated all the associated dialog. There's an entirely new opening sequence & you get to skip chores! Animal Crossing player names would be truncated to 6 characters to fit i...

This month's patch brings some big changes behind the scenes through massive code rewrites. As I promised in June's patch release post, I dedicated most of my available time this month to fixing code bugs and localizing code where I could. I'm going to talk about the changes in depth, so feel free to skip that if it doesn't interest you.
Code changes in a pre-built binary tend to be annoying, especially when dealing with limited free space. I completely rewrote several functions, and mo...

Hey everyone! I've finished up July's patch and scheduled it to be released automatically on August 1st! I'm currently in the process of moving, and may not have access to a stable internet connection until August 4th. If you have any questions, I'll do my best to reply to them when I have time between now and then. I hope you enjoy this month's patch! It has a lot of quality changes in it!

Hey everyone. In the past few months, quite a few people have asked me if there is any public version of the patch available. While I still intend to release a full public patch by the end of the year, I began thinking of a way to give back to the community in the meantime. Originally I thought about releasing the previous month's patch to the public as a new one released. That wasn't a bad idea, but after some thinking, I've decided that if some form of a public patch is released, it should ...

Hey everyone, it's time for this month's patch release! I know it's a bit late, and I apologize for that. I was away for a week for personal reasons. Anyways, this patch isn't the largest but it does have some great changes! I won't be going in depth with this month's changes because the code changes I worked on are honestly uninteresting.
Changes:
- K.K. Slider now accepts English song names! Due to what I believe are cursor positional constraints, song names are still limi...

Hey everyone! May's patch is finally here. I apologize for it's lateness, but I have resolved the space issue! Hey everyone! I've got some slightly bad news for this months patch. I've hit the size limit for files that are stored in the GameCube's secondary RAM area. I'm going to talk a bit about it in depth below. For those of you who just want to know when this month's patch will release, I'll get to the point. I'm not sure. I had quite a bit more free time this month to work on the patch, so I was able to translate another 2,000 dialogs or so. We've passed the 75% completion margin. This also cause...

Hey everyone! It's that time of the month again (well, a few days late but I promise it was for good reason!)
The patch was delayed because I ran into a pretty major game crash that I had to resolve before releasing this month's patch. I apologize for the delay! Also, I'm going to go in-depth about something I've had on my mind. If you'd rather just get to the patch notes, feel free to skip down to the Changes section!

Hey everyone. I apologize for the delay in posting this month's patch. I didn't want to release it on April 1st as it was April Fools, and I ended up being unable to release it yesterday.
Before we get into the details of this month's patch, I want to address an issue with it. $20 supporters who need their names added to the credits since the last time I changed them are still not added. I have to do research into the credits sequence to figure out how the line font siz...

If the patcher was not working for you before, please redownload this month's patch zip file! It has an updated version of the patcher that should work! However there's a chance it could still crash, in which case it will now tell you the error if it didn't before. If it does crash, ple...

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday season and your new year is going well thus far! Today I'm bringing you the ninth patch release and the first of 2019! As always thanks for your continued support. There are about 2,000-3,000 dialogs for quests. Once quests are translated, we will be around 70-75% done with dialog! February's patch will focus on them pretty much exclusively because they're so important. Hopefully you won't have villagers get mad at you because you d...

Hey everyone, I hope you're having a good holiday season! Hopefully this month's translation patch will bring you some extra joy! It's honestly really exciting.
