Making movies is fun
Filming today went very well. There's still two more days left to shoot this sequence but that's because we're getting pretty specific with some special effects stuff. Today we were just doing stuff with this one actor (some of you may know him) and getting all his stuff shot.
To whom it may concern: intention is important, and this work will be deeply disrespectful of the ideologies here portrayed. Atun-Shei Films does not have fascist sympathies – quite the opposite in fact...

Filmed the thing – but you won't see it for another six weeks
Yesterday I shot the thing you all like – then I hid it away in a hard drive, where it will remain untouched for a month while I work on other things. Ah, but how I delight in torturing you! How I thrive on your agony!
Later this week I am going to go get a bunch of lumber and start building an elaborate set. I'll give $1,000 dollars* to anyone who can guess what it is.

I took a hard look at the calendar and decided that if I wanted to finish the next Checkmate Lincolnites on schedule, not rush my Leif Erikson Day special, and get the first cut of my movie done by the end of the month, I'd need to move Checkmate to the front of the queue.

A late summer update
Don't really have any photos to show my progress, so here's a picture of my dog.
After getting my new studio set up and editing the Upstairs Lounge video, I turned my attention to editing The Sudbury Devil, taking about two weeks to focus on it almost exclusively. Happy to report that I'm in the midst of the third act now and rapidly closing in on finishing the first cut.
