Just a quick update to let you know that my Frankenstein video (coming this Halloween-ish) is coming along great and promises to be an Atun-Shei all-timer. The Romantic Era is such a fertile ground for study and analysis, and it ties back into so many random areas of my interest and expertise. My treatment of the novel is going to be something that hasn't really been seen before, at least not on YouTube.

Good news and bad news

I have good news and bad news. The bad news is I am behind on literally all of the video ideas I mentioned in my early summer update.

Well, summer in New Orleans is here a bit early this year – temps are soaring into the 90s from late morning to early evening, broken only by the occasional torrential rainstorm. In its infinite wisdom our monopolistic local energy company is intentionally doing rolling blackouts for some reason, leaving tons of people without AC (thankfully it hasn't hit my house yet).

This time we watched the most historically inaccurate movie ever made... and enjoyed ourselves a bit too much. Making great progress on the Frozen '50s Man train miniature

First pic is a day scene, the second a night scene. The colored bulbs I installed in my ceiling have been great recently – used them for various scenes in this Frozen '50s episode and the recent Rev War video to great effect.

Still need to add a few physical elements to the miniature that will sell the effect a bit more, and there will be a substantial amount of digital massaging in After Effects. We want to embrace the campiness but still put in the work to make it aes...
