Even having to include several older films I decided to release the new season rather than just a movie of the month because, frankly, it's just more fun than a single film. As with the rest of the U.S., my city is digging out from under 45 inches of snow. However there are a few brave souls who answered a casting notice. One that I'm considering is this actress, for a supporting role. She's doing a self tape for me, and once I see it I'll let you guys know whether it's a yes or a no for her.

Today was supposed to be a shoot day on 'The Dark Coat', but car trouble has stranded the actor. The high in Chicago is 14 degrees today, with subzero lows. So we're rescheduling for later in the week.

Welcome Mark to the film 'The Dark Coat'. With his scenes shot - including exteriors shot during 12 degree weather! - I only have one more day of quick shooting and the film will be done.
From there I'm moving on to 'Obscura'. This will be a night shoot. It hasn't been cast as of yet, just recently put out casting notices.

Beyond the usual fun in BTS, you'll find out with Z.313's BTS why I had Alex wear glasses for the entire shoot.

Hannah is in, for a new short entitled 'The Dark Coat'. We're working out the times at this point.
The photo is from her self tape audition. She did a terrific job, impressed me enough that I quickly offered her the part. This will be a well-acted piece.

Cooper, seen in ASMR, performed the male lead in the upcoming film Z.313. So far this one looks really good, and Cooper knocked it out of the park. He's quickly becoming one of my favorite actors to work with.
Z.313 is about 80% shot. Just a few exteriors, driving shots, and a small role to fill.
Hopefully I'll have a trailer next week. And yes, this is the February movie-of-the-month!

Another person has joined the cast of Z.313, headed by the lovely Alexandria. I need only one more person and it's a go. Shooting is scheduled to begin next week.
I might publish a synopsis of the script soon. And as soon as shooting begins I'll get out a quick BTS look at the making of it.

For those who are newly signed up, or only on your second or third season, you've got a real treat coming to you in season 5. The lovely Alex has done several films with me, and has agreed to come out for yet another short film.
I've done a few very good films with Alex - 'Podcast' being one of the best.
We're working out the details, but shooting should start next week.

We're at the middle of the month and I haven't announced what February's movie of the month is because I'M NOT 100% SURE THERE WILL BE ONE!
The city announced an extended stay at home advisory, which has made a lot of actors skittish about coming out.
However, I have an actress! The page featured above is from the script we'll be shooting. We're just working out the shooting day now. I still need a male lead in this, so the search continues.

This is an apron. It's costuming for an upcoming short, 'Something In The Silence'. The actress will be wearing it and nothing else. The question now is who will be the actress? I'm currently interviewing actresses for another upcoming short. Maybe one of them? Or maybe a returning actress?

As I have an end-of-year slowdown of shooting I'm using the time to order props for upcoming films, do some more writing, and cut a few more advertisements for Vimeo.
This prop is from the upcoming film ... well, actually I'll wait on revealing the title. But little details like this go far to giving a verisimilitude to a story.
Casting still hasn't been decided for this one, but I've got some people in mind as possibles.
