Fun Fact #2

This actress didn't understand me in the walk through that when I wanted her to "shake out her towel" I wanted her more to drop it, shake it out and put it under her arms. So we instead get an awkward and quick shake of the towel instead.

(Another quickie about the actress: we were supposed to work together on a second film, but she chickened out at the last minute!)

Fun Fact

In this scene from 'Run', the script called for Breanna to grab a shirt from the chair and pull it on. But she forgot, and she looked so lovely nude I decided to just go with it.

Samhain

This is a first look image from 'Samhain' which I'm editing. In this coming week I'll probably shut down production because of the holiday, and ramp up the following week for the eminent December movies.

As to December's movie-of-the-month? I'll have a better idea next week.

It's my desire in December to lay out a calendar of all the upcoming movies-of-the-month for at least the next 6 months. We'll see if I can do that!

Covid

I was to shoot an actress today - she's in a supporting role as the (mostly nude) girlfriend of the lead. However she let me know she tested positive for Covid!

So we've rescheduled our shoot for a couple of weeks down the line, once she tests negative again.

It shows that it's not over yet - so everyone, be careful!

Who Wore It Better?

Me, or the actress in 'Aztec'? I'll tell you this, that actress had to do all her scenes nude, and I'm in jeans and a t-shirt, so I guess she wore it better.

POSTER

I kinda like this poster for ASMR - bet you do as well. Danielle was one of the more popular actresses I worked with. And this poster represents what I wanted ASMR to be, a film that celebrated the sexiness of this actress. I think it worked.

Aztec

After a million delays, I'm creeping up on finishing the trailer for 'Aztec' which I will show the actors. The film is almost complete - one quick scene I need to shoot.

Once all the actors have seen the trailer I'll post a link so you all can take a look. Probably early next week.

Taking a break from editing 2 new films, I've played around with the poster for 'The Night of  the Storm' with one of the more celebrated actresses I've worked with, Danielle.

I really have this thing for the 1950's styling to movie posters. And this fits right in.

I'm almost inspired enough to do an IMDB page for this!

Ok, I know I've shown 2 other "final" posters for 'Elsewhen', but this one really is the FINAL poster. I'll set up an IMDB for it within the week.

Samhain

It was a very foggy day today in Chicago, beautifully atmospheric for the holiday. And I grabbed my camera and ran out for shooting. These will be the establishing shots for 'Samhain', a film I'm currently shooting.

You can't beat it when mother nature helps you with your shoots!

No party plans this Halloween, so just watching some of my favorite horror films (other than my own) with my girlfriend. Over the month here are some that I've watched that are my yearly favorites:

So You Will Know We Are Serious

I had a shot I wanted to try out in the above mentioned film (it worked, by the way), and so I dove into the film. I hired an actor I'd never worked with, feeling that he might not have been right for the role. Well, I was wrong, he was terrific, and a really genial guy to work with. Glad I took a chance on him.

Trillian

I'd like to work with this actress again. She was very good in "When Last Seen Alive". We almost did work together again. She applied for "The Driver", but I'd settled on the actress for that role already. Ironically the lead in "The Driver" almost starred in "Elsewhen".

Every film has a series of 'almost's' and near misses.

Running Time

'The Apartment at the End of the Hall' clocks in with a running time of over 14 minutes. I've still got some edits to do, but nothing that will greatly affect that estimation.

This film will probably premier in December of January. I'm really liking this one - one of those big films I do from time to time.

Actress

This actress appears in my upcoming "The Apartment At The End Of The Hall" which still waits to be completed (one supporting role needs to be cast). She was excellent, but I had questions about her age on seeing her photos - she's not nearly as young as she looks - mid 20's - which is fine.

I think you'll really be impressed with what a great job she does in the film. The film has a relatively large cast, and even has a surprise returning actress in a supporting role!

I have posted the order of films for season 13 on my "About" page - please take a look at it. As with all my seasons, it's movies of the month with a new film (or two in this case) thrown in. Make sure you know where you are by way of seasons you're to receive. If you're not in line for season 13, you won't get it.

There'll be no movie-of-the-month next month with the premiere of the new season as is typical. I should have a trailer or two coming out in the next week showing some of the...

I should be able to announce later this week which two new films will be part of Season Thirteen. I believe I've figured it out. The above picture is a shot from one of them.

Sunday?

A rare Sunday shoot this morning. Why rare? Because it's football season, and I try not to schedule shoots for the weekend. Sundays I watch pro ball, Saturday I have a friend who often gets college ball tickets.

But, if a film needs to be shot and that's the only time everyone's available, well, I'll take one for the team!

Thirteen

I'm currently putting together the films of Season Thirteen into their $2 and $10 tiers. I'm doing a few new things in the BTS. And all the while, I'm setting up shoot times for actors on films that will appear in 2023.

Whenever I go back over my old films I'm sometimes a little surprised - once I edit them I often don't see them until I assemble all the movies-of-the-month into a new season. This shot is from 'The Wrong Man', a film I really enjoyed. Nice to revisit them.
