Hey everyone and happy first of April!
Today launches the least ferocious of Sol'Kesh creatures, the ruske is so wonderfully calm it will just peacefully float about allowing anyone and everyone to ride their back like some lazy river in the wild. Even when it's being attacked its slow to respond and its only defense is how bad it tastes.
Thankfully the weapon that can be crafted from it is one of the fiercest!

Hey everyone!
Here's a little showcase for March's second item, the Tides Breath. A craftable mask for breathing underwater and one of the more alien looking designs yet. And next month we'll hit 40 items! Such a milestone and just 12 short of a full playing card deck.
I'd really love to do a pack of these for the eventual Kickstarter, but till then Traveler and Dweller Tier members can access them all.

I'm beginning to realize that the Sol'Kesh bestiary has quite a lot that crawls. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing, or that It'll stop anytime soon...just that there are a lot.
So allow the icullus to crawl into your hear with its release today! This beasts resides in the Blackwells biome (caves) and spends its time prying creatures off of ceilings and walls with its long toxin-laden pincers.

I have truly done an injustice to the turtle community and have yet to do any turtles on Sol'Kesh (though the argustaur is kind of close). Happy Wayward Wednesday everyone!
The effort to flesh out more biome illustrations for the book continues! This is Arborn, found nestled at the foothills of the Splitspine mountains, this slightly isolated wealdwood (that's the name of the forest biome) hosts a few large fauna while it hides entrances to the cavernous center of Sol'Kesh island.

Usually my wayward sketches are rough sketches just to add a bit of a flavor into Sol'Kesh and help flesh out all the resource gathering or minor fauna found in the land for the book. But then this weekend I started sketching this little dudes face and had no choice but to put in the effort.
So say hello to the murmo, its a feline that basically just tumbles through the air, gliding on thick furred membranes that are neatly folded up under thick fur in the sketch here.

Hey everyone! I am just so relieved to finally finish this environment illustration for the Blackwells Biome. I started this during the christmas break, and it turned into such a deep dive of lighting and getting the scene depth right.
You can definitely say I got lost in this cave.
But nearly 2 months later I have it done! and now that's 4 out of the 6 biomes coloured illustrations completed for the book, woo. Patron members will find this in the Wayward folder in their dr...

When I draw my creatures, they're often just floating about the void of the Journal look and more and more I've been trying to give them a bit more of a base in the drawing to better showcase the environment.
Wellllll Worldshaper is the master of that when he sculpts the minis, I love how the drafian is crawling along the branch here in this month's release.

Once a humble inch worm with the dreams of flight, the drafian has evolved, not through the natural selection of eons but through my unadulterated hubris! And although its 5e rules were good and done as a tiny creature, I just had to make this something the players could ride through the air. To justify why it's so big I've had to update its journal entry and I regret nothing! so please enjoy this massive bug,and the whip you can fashion from its toxic silk and a calitross claw.

Hey everyone!
February is fast approaching and we have some new beasts on the way, and not just new but super sized.
Originally the Drafian was about the size of a real life caterpillar, gliding about from tree to tree without a care in the world.... then I did the preview image above and thought...why not make this thing big enough to ride.
And so the D&D rules and journal have been updated to make this leaf-gobbling monstrosity large sized, to fit right al...
Happy New ---- ehh maybe a bit late, but I did want to showcase the results with the actual item that goes with the winning beast from the end of the year vote.
Thanks so much to everyone voted, I actually thought the Bearded Draffer was going to win until the Sacrissian came running in and just ripped it apart...democratically of course.
So to use a new harvestable part of the Sacrissian's Sclerotic Bone and some paste from the Lanceleth we get this fun new drug.
