Chapter 3 Update

Hey, guys! We wanted to give you all an update on how things are going on chapter 3. The script is 55% complete. We currently have about 670 still images and 15 animations for the chapter. Lots going on in this update, so we're putting some extra work into it to make sure things make sense and the flow of the overall narrative feels right.

The script is about 25% complete, though Storm has reassessed how long it will be in total. We're shooting for something closer to 35,000 words on this script, as opposed to last chapter's 30,000-word script. We're hoping this won't cause any delays on our expected release date, but we're confident that we can still meet it despite extending the size of chapter 3.

A couple of preview pics from Chapter 3

Wanted to share these with you all. We're well under way on Chapter 3. The script is coming along quickly, and the renders are getting pumped out. We're planning for this one to be about the same length as Chapter 2, but we *may* go a bit longer depending on how some scenes play out. With that in mind, we think we're about 12% complete with the script and about 8% with the renders.

Chapter 3 restarts

Storm here. I bet you read that title and thought "Oof, again?" But bear with us a moment here.

This is our first go at creating a game, and it's been a learning process. This is the first visual novel I've written, and the first one Slockie has had to code. So we aren't always doing things as efficiently as they could be done. As we gain more experience, though, we're seeing where our mistakes are, and we'd like to fix them.

Beta is out to testers!

We've released the beta to our playtesters while we finish up the handful of animations not yet complete for Chapter 2. We did try to go through and find as many screw-ups in the code, script, and renders as possible so there'd be less for testers to find, but odds are we've missed some. With the length of this chapter, it could be a lot.

With that in mind, it'll be at least a few more days until the update is ready for release, but it won't be very long at all now.

A quick Chapter 2 update

Hi all! We're still hard at work on chapter 2, the script for which is over 23,000 words so far, and we're plowing through the last couple of days of the script. We're making good time, and we're hoping you'll see the new chapter fairly soon.

This chapter has a great many more decisions, branches, and sex scenes than chapter 1 did, and Slockie has been hard at work trying to perfect his animations so you'll have quite a few of those in this chapter as well.

Chapter 2 preview

Thursday night dance lessons with Heidi can get pretty hot. Just a preview of one of the potential scenes in the upcoming chapter 2 release. Currently working on the Friday part of the script (and MC's date with Zenda!). We're currently sitting at 16,000 words, which was the size of the full script for chapter 1, and we have a couple of days left to script out. This should be a nice, long chapter and we can't wait for you all to see it.

I have no idea how to title this poll, so you get the above clickbaity title.

Slockie and I were discussing animations and renders from sex scenes, and it occurred to us how infrequently things like boobs are properly rendered in AVNs. Meaning that normal, natural breasts will typically fall to the side/flatten out when a woman lays on her back. Very rarely do they remain perky and pointed to the sky, unless the woman in question is incredibly gifted or has had implants.

We're about 50% of the way through the creation of chapter 2, and things are coming along great! We've got a fun little cameo coming up for a character from another game we love, and we can't wait for you to see it (but we won't be spoiling it!). We're both really happy with how the renders are looking, even after the switch to the webp format for chapter 2 forward. This should help with the size of the download and will help keep it from getting out of hand as the story progresses.

Bare Witness chapter 2 update

So, we've completed day 1 of the chapter 2 update. It's a busy day for MC, with it coming out to about 5,500 words and a couple of hundred renders.

This chapter is going to be beefy. We're expecting it to be twice the length of chapter 1, and that's something that should hold true for the rest of the game. With that in mind, we don't want to promise a particular release date (we learned our lesson on chapter 1 with that) but we do want to let you all know that we are hard at work.
