Update time!

I started out this week with a great plan of tasks to be done on the new game. But now I'm 2 weddings and a national election later and frankly, not a lot has been done. It's update time!

This week went as planned. I managed to finish up and implement the new interaction I started with last week. Phoenix delivered another image and is now working on the two variants of the final shot of the game. Chris delivered all the new clothes and I managed to put them in already. Patrons over on the discord got a minor preview of that.

It's update time!

I've been doing a lot of small things this week. I've been setting up all the various channels and basic bots required for the discord server. It's already proved itself with a couple of useful bug reports and  requests. So I went ahead and dealt with some of those. Update time!

This week I focused back on the clothes system. I've squashed a game breaking bug in the outfit system. As you can see in the gif I've also changed the way basic wear and remove commands work. It's still a little laggy so I'll give it some more attention over the weekend, but I think this change should make it much easier to play around with her clothes.

Update time!

I've spent this week refining and implementing the first segment of the ending. It's a mostly linear segment that wraps up the immediate story. Like most scenes involving the old man, it's been super fun to work on. I also worked on the "bad" ending branch, that one gave me some serious anxiety. I almost hope no one experiences that one :/

As you know, I spent the week on a business trip. I got to see London, which was rather awesome. As anticipated, I couldn't really get much work done on the game during that (what with "normal" work getting in the way and all). July gear shift

So as you probably know, this version has seen a multitude of setbacks, I was prepared to tough it out and deliver, until I prepared the art commissions for this month and realized I had way too many of them lined up. More than it was realistic to expect during a single month, especially from a new artist.

Update time

The first stage of writing for the games finale is over. It's currently standing at over 4k words total. I'm now going to go into editor mode, clearing out redundancies, fixing typos and making sure it's the best I can make it. I'll also be starting the process of compiling the various visual references I'll need for the endings images, so that the new artist can start work on them.

Update time.

The artist search is still in progress. I got at least one promising sketch (and some... less promising work). By next week's update I should have all the results in hand and have either a new artist, or another round of audition commissions to report on. It's a slow process but it's now at the point where it's easy to run concurrently with regular work so it's not a huge time sink.

This week was spent writing multiple ending segments. Some of it turned out rather well, some... didn't. So I'll spend some time next week making improvements where needed. There's still a lot time in the plan dedicated to writing and it's still very early in the versions development so I doubt it'll impact the release date.

Since I spent all of last week working on the hotfix version, I will spend this weekly update to lay out the plan going forward.

At this point, I consider v 0.11 stable, so unless anything terrible gets reported, I will be moving on to working on v 0.12.

Update time!

This week was filled with a lot of tiny tasks meant to improve the overall polish of the game. Things like: Going over typos, fixing minor animation mistakes, adding a basic bell sound when you click the bell and a way to mute it, minor rewrites to some early game actions, finishing up the new outfit system, streamlining some menus (thanks to helpful feedback over on F95), all the while working with BDOne on revisions for that last art commission.

So bad news out of the way first: BDOne has been hit with some crunch at work and so will not be able to finish work on the art for the new date on time. I've considered releasing the version without the new date (or without the art) but this being a polish version, its light on new content as is. And so, in agreement with the opinion of the patrons, I'm postponing the release of this version. The new estimated release is near the end of May.

The UI upgrade process is finally done. It's taken longer than I planned and took over most of this week. But it's done.
