Update time!

So as you may have noticed, I released the second tech demo of Body Language yesterday to all patrons. I’ve gotten some feedback and bug reports back so I’ve spent most of my time focused on clearing them out. Update time! 

This  week was mostly focused on smaller tasks, as most of my time went into  buying, assembling and configuring a new computer. No more potato dev machine! 

Meanwhile I also did some writing for the mood system for the  blonde girl. As well as got the background artists working on the last pieces needed for the next tech demo. Hopefully they’ll be done by next week so I’ll be able to get it out to patrons by the end of the month.  View Post

It's been a mixed week. The main feature I had planned to work on, scene replay, turned out slightly more complicated than I figured. It's nice ramping back up to a normal working pace. This week I've managed to (finally!) wrap up the writing on the first date with "ballet girl". I like the way it turned out quite a lot. Hey look it's August already, man that went by quick. As expected I still didn't have much time for the game this week. I did manage to squeeze in one task that pretty much every single player that tried out the tech demo asked for, roll forward. I'd thought it would pose a programming challenge so I put it off a bit until now, but last night I'd figured out a way to do it quickly that wasn't too hacky. So now Body Language supports rolling dialogue in all directions.

This week went by fast! I'm a bit swamped at my day job lately and moving my brain into writing mode after that is proving difficult. Since the Body Language tech demo release last week, I've gotten back a bunch of helpful feedback. In response I've been fixing bugs, editing dialogues and polishing up the UI all week. To help streamline the dialogue editing process (both for myself and for Awolfe) I've spent some more time on dialogue tooling.
