I am well and continuing to chip away at Ch 7! Wrapping up the final scene on day 3 of 4. (There is significantly more fun to be had in this chapter, so it's been taking more time to get drawn.)

Work continues on chapter 7.
Having a lot of fun with the scenes and making steady progress on Day 3 of 4. Taking every available moment to chip away at the artwork. It's gonna be a really fun chapter. I think it'll be the best yet, but maybe I'm biased.

The grind continues. And gains are made.
Good progress on the story over this last week and a bit. Pretty much half way there as I work on day 3 of 4. (Most of the tricky art and writing comes on day 4 so that'll be fun :)
Having a lot of fun writing this chapter. I think y'all will really enjoy it. The narrative flow is the best yet, and there is a lot of action for David to stumble upon.

Progress is being made!
I'm really enjoying this new approach to developing the chapter all together as I go. Starting with an outline of plot events, and then doing the code, art, and dialogue all together is keeping me interested. And hopefully making the chapter more interesting.
Scope creep is happening. A lot. But that's ok!

Chapter 7 is another chance to improve as a creator and storyteller. Goals include more immersive events, smoother animations, and faster plot progression.
For this chapter I'm trying a new dev approach wherein I'll be drawing and coding as I go. I'm hoping this will inspire me to add more small touches and moments that you can discover in the "explorable" parts of the game.

Progress is being made. The end is in sight etc etc. Art assets are approximately 85% done at this point. What's left? A few more animated loops for the final scene and then some outro illustrations.
I'm still mulling over how I'd like to rearrange patreon tiers to entice more support. If anyone has thoughts let me know in the comments. I'm thinking early access?

It's going to be an interesting chapter! Ch 6 strives to maintain the strong linear narrative, while injecting more reader freedom to explore each day as it unfolds.

I know it's not pretty, but here's a placeholder attempt at a progress meter of sorts!
Chapter 6 should be interesting! Fantasy Valley is (and will likely remain) a linear visual novel with moments of exploration and discovery. But in this next chapter, I want to open up the feeling of freedom that the reader has, and to create some low-stakes choices that might lead to different scenes. Just finished most of the art assets for day 2 of 3! Next step is getting day 2 coded, then on to day 3.... Day 3 will be the most work, but it should also be the most fun to read/play. Working on some new poses with Professor Priftathi's casual outfit.
I draw and paint these up at double the screen resolution so that they don't get too blurry as I pull and warp the pixels in each pose. Hopefully all these poses help bring the dialogue to life and make these characters compelling!

Ch 4 aims to convey the next five-ish days in David's story. It is progressing. Slowly. I know that will bum some of you out. It bums me out too. However, I think the wait will be worth it.
Looking back I realized how rushed I felt creating Ch 3. And I suspect you can feel that when you read it. I want to take the time necessary to make Ch 4 feel interesting and fully developed.
