And we're (roughly) at the mid-way point in this update. If things keep going along at this pace, we should be hitting the rough release date with relative ease. For the most part, the writing is pretty much done. The plot is locked down tight. There's one more scene to actually get onto "paper", and most of the rest is re-writes, edits, and continuity. Probably a few run-throughs to make sure the chapter's arc runs smoothly.

The Olympics. The theme for August 2021's patron-exclusive wallpapers is the Olympics. I mean, that's kind of obvious isn't it?

Between the shower and bathtub, the ladies of Now & Then finally get properly washed after their long trip from Grantsboro. And here we are. Just days from the release of Chapter 18. Truth be told, the last third of this chapter came together a lot more quickly than I was expecting. I think having a handful of interior locations already in development (since I'd been planning this move for some time) really helped. Well, here we are again. About the midway point in the development cycle. While the raw numbers say we're about 50%, there's a fair amount of unfinished script and screens taken for the back end of the chapter that have just not been implemented yet. Given a night or two to just work on that, the tracker number is sure to surge.

Here we are, in the final stretch. The development for this chapter has been packed into the few hours I've had at night during the week, hopefully stitched together into a cohesive narrative. After the massive event-filled chapter that was Chapter 16, 0.17.0 will probably feel relatively laid back. It isn't, and there are definitely essential story beats and character interactions to be found here.

The work for 0.17.0 is progressing steadily. With the change up in personal work schedule (no more telecommuting), the workload for this chapter is being broken up and done in smaller chunks and stitched together in coding. So, some scenes may be built and arranged over a couple days as the script, shooting, and coding all come together. Still, making good progress.

With the story moving beyond the city limits, Now & Then gets to start exploring newer locations, even if some of them are brief stops along the road. With what's been built set-wise and written in the script so far, there is certainly a road trip quality to this episode. Gone are the cityscapes, replaced with more organic locations.
