This was a really quick sketch, if that wasn't evident from the look and finish here. But ti's also a little representaive of a new experimental brush. It's got this really "wet" feel to it which allows for nice color blending like in the hair. I'll play more with it later but it's all about blending and light touch.

Sorry, again nothing very smart to say about this page. Someone posted a quick tutorial on a simple method for shading breasts and I wanted to try it out.
I do want to learn more "manga style" coloring and drawing stuff. Not in terms of facial shapes but just in the way the artists online color with digital paint that looks really wet. And they mix it with these really cool and sharp pencils. It would be worth learning.

This is one of those things I plain old feel guilty about spending time on. The lines actually look good but I'm not really in love with the posture or the overall image enough to care about it. I don't care about it enough to clean up the fingers or the feet anyway. And those elements can take about as long as the rest of the image combined.

The bindings on the wrappings definitely took some time to do but were worth it for adding that extra layer of definition to what would otherwise be simple stripes. I do like the evil queen's design here but I admit it's just a simplistic "lets be as naked as possible) outfit that shows off some incredible abs for someone who's been lying around for a thousand years.

This is just a quick comic of admittedly one of my less used by favorite variations on the colette character. Normally the so called "goolette" is a fun and innocent frivolous creature known for more being a hugger. This however is a much more sinister Halloween variant. And I think the story fits the bill for a spooky adventure.

Generally speaking I think I've taken another subtle twist into even more cartoonish looks. I'm trying to cut down on excessive lines and details on every curve and instead simplifying them into longer single lines. I also take some of that and put it into the shading....

Not too much to add here that hasn't been said elsewhere. I added more notes onto the page for my flatter, Brellom, to use. I may have gave them the wrong idea for panel 5 though, it's supposed to be ALL space and that swoosh is supposed to be how I track the thickest part of the stars going across it.

This page is still in a pretty rough and incomprehensible state! If you've been following my other peia page previews, the process is largely the same as it has been for the past few months. The only new note I should point out here is the L and R in the top panel, which is to help me remember which side is left and right! Very important for asymmetrical characters!

I'm pretty specific about tools, often going a long way out of my way to research things before settling down with any one thing. But I do buy brush packs now and then for digital software. And quite a few of them are absolutely fantastic! But switching to manga studio, I started really making my own. And when I really fall for a single tool, I tend to use it a lot and it influences a lot of my art afterwards.
I like the idea of letting the tools speak to you. Figuring out what they want to do...

So I picked up Game Maker Studio Pro on the Humble Bundle site today. It seemed like a good deal! I don't quite show it all that often but I love the act of blending "paints." It's something that I think yields by its nature, an interesting looking result. It's part joy at discovering that this color mixed with that color using that brush results in something you completely didn't expect. And with some basic understanding of values and rendering, you can turn those experiments into proper forms.

It felt lazy in a lot of ways. However the inking and color rendeirng was turning out alright. I just felt that it was a dumb pose and didn't really reflect what I like about the character. (It's Chun Li by the way in the racy Street Fighter 5 black dress.)

I really like the latest adjustments to this pencil. It feels natural and flexible at different sizes. It favors strong and short repetitive strokes but it can be applied to curves or even rough outline work. It's not exactly like my old real world mechanical pencils but so far it's bringing back lots of tactile memories.
