Anyway it's my friend Aidenke's character, Amy. I don't think I set out to draw her but it ended up looking enough like her that all I needed to do was change a few things and it became Amy. Anyway, remember what I said about practicing story telling through texture or replicating materials. There's something to the dynamics of pushing and pulling and squeezing that translates very well to a visual medium. But uh... lets put aside the craft story for a bit.

Squish

I wasn't done testing out how to do latex. And I felt it was important to practice another important element.

A lot of the reason you would want to practice realistic materials is being able to tell stories more vividly. Taking this latex squish for example, ideally when someone sees this image they can already imagine just what it feels like. They can get the visceral feeling of the smooth and supple push back and the amount of pressure you're providing.

Something I've never really done much myself was drawing "animal pals" in my comics. Well... okay I mean I guess I did do an entire webcomic based on a talking questioning duck. I was just thinking about some other features in manga and comics and cartoons, and the one walking talking animal companion is a common feature.
