Couple unfinished sketches

Totally unrelated to each other. Sorry I don't have a super great drawing today, I started these but wasn't feeling them for one reason or another.

That first sketch is Asa from Chainsaw Man Vol 2 with her "sword" which was a REALLY cool scene but I admit I'm not sure about the hands in this pose. I was just making up a sword stance so it has no reality to it, which can be fine but it feels like I could do it better.

The Sonic sketch on the other hand was interesting but didn't lo...

Big (really huge boob character)

It's Brellom's character "Elayne Beaumont" or was it "Boobmont..."

Anyway, they've been nice and helpful to me and I saw them drawing a cute Colette so I wanted to draw their OC too. And it's fun. She does have... a pretty wild anatomy that I'm sometimes shy about drawing but hey... I've kinda said to myself just go more open with sexy art and I think I will.

You're a Big Help, Lady!

"A Big Help, huh?"

Okay so... I'm leaning towards giving her the superhero name, "Big Help." Just seems nice. I got this image of her being a BIG superhero in a small town/city that just kinda does some tasks helping people out. And occasionally fighting a bunch of monsters.

Just seems like a lof of people liked her so I figure I could work on it a little more.

Caught a Colette (light bondage, implied peril)

One of the fun things with this method of coloring is that it's REALLY easy to shape planes of light with it. And with a few planes of light, you can create a lot of different settings or scenarios. It's definitely something worth playing with further. Just a few shadows and you can add a LOT of depth to a scene.

I don't know if I'm gonna continue with this design for Big Lady. The more I think of it, the more fun I think it would be to have a "giant mecha woman" that way I can like... combine more of my favorite things into a single idea.

Big Lady, Big Problems

Just messing around. Watched "Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla" with a friend yesterday as part of Godzilla Day celebrations and it was a bunch of fun! It also made me remember this idea to have my own Kaiju fighting lady to deal with big monsters. Or at least just to have an excuse to have a cool character fighting monsters all the time.

I don't really have a design, let alone a backstory in mind. I dunno if she's a normal girl that grows big. Or maybe she can be a giant robot that's pil...

Sweating it out (pinup)

I have been gently encouraged by friends and patrons to draw more sporty grown up Yasmina and I wasn't against that idea.

I guess you've noticed by now, I have a tendency to just grow attached to a single character and if people keep liking the drawings I make of them then I'll keep doing them.

I looked at some of my recent pieces and thought about which one I'd like to colorize and this one came up. It was a little more complicated than some other pieces are, being two characters interacting and so on. But the image benefits so much from color it was worth doing.

There are some spots I think I could really improve this but I like how it came together in the end with a really soft looking picture. I like the shape the light makes in framin...

Forgive me for starting the month with something really self indulgent and kinda naughty. I admit I still like dinosaur girl in various states of clothing getting torn up. It's just... kinda cute to me. In a Shanna the She-Devil sorta way.

On the other end of that, I'm starting to feel VERY confident with this method of coloring. The way things glow looks super nice. And I'm certain I can still improve on it more in the future.

Oh... just playing around. I'm really enjoying this method of painting, it's very fast but there's some issues with the final result looking a little "smudgey." That's the kind of thing that can be mitigated by having interesting looking brushes at the same time. I LIKE that the image looks like someone painted it, but there are issues when it looks muddier than it should look.

Cassandra Wu-San

Slightly lesser seen version of Cassandra Cain over here, from the cartoon Young Justice. It was nice to see her in a cartoon, even though her story was DRAMATICALLY altered. But anyway, a friend wanted to see me draw this version of her so I went for it. Took a while though, but I'm happy to do it.

Ashley, Big Demon Slayer Fan (cosplay sketch)

Ya know, I can say with some confidence that Ashley's an anime fan. And Demon Slayer is still one of her recent favorites. I figured it could be cute to do a little "costume" of Nezuko for her as a little Halloween sketch. I think this makes it that MOST of my OCs have had a costume so far this year. But there's still room for more.

As cool as it is that Suzie found a beat up jacket to complete her Friday the 13th costume, she's maybe a little short to play a convincing Jason Vorhees. Cute though...

Anyway I was experimeting more with the painterly style and I thiiiink it works. But there are times when I'll want to have a really smooth paint job especially when I'm working on appealing skintones. I'll be trying to find a nice balance between those two extremes. It might not look like a lot of other successful draw...

Forgot my Costume (topless nsfw)

I was doing more experiments with this method of coloring, so I took an older drawing that could easily be painted over. There are some wonky edges but I kiiiinda like leaving some of those in. Some of them are not very attractive and some make a piece look like it's just unfinished. But sometimes I like leaving in some parts of the sketch layer or some less than neat gaps in the painting. That Mom look

I'd been realizing that when I draw Rose, she tends to look younger than she should. Or at least she should look a somewhat older than my other characters anyway. I looked at an artist's work that I liked a lot and kinda used that to help me draw Rose with a little differently. I think it came out rather successful, I just need to make sure I keep some of these elements for the next time.

Jill Valentines Bad Day (nsfw, zombie gore)

I don't think Jill's tube top is very good armor for a zombie apocalypse but hey, it makes a statement.

Some of my friends called this piece "cute" and that seems a little weird to me. Maybe it's just my style is cute in general. This pic was pretty spur of the moment, I was just watching one of the bad Resident Evil movies for fun and thought I'd draw a zombie pic. One idea went into another, and now we have Jill getting into a fight with some pretty grabby naked zombies. Fun!

Magical Girl Isabelle

So I'm still playing that Time Princess game and I unlocked this CRAZY cute outfit that I just had to make a sketch of. So... that's basically the whole story behind this sketch. I simplified some details to make it a little easier to draw, and to potentially draw again. But it's probably just a one time costume for Halloween. Maybe if she's feelin it, she'll jump into it again someday.

Oh, also including the screenshot from the game for a comparison. It's soooo cute.

Missing Knight

If they put Cass in Gotham Knights I'd have had that pre-ordered the minute it was available.

Just kinda a rough sketch that is KINDA okay. I'm not super happy with it despite there being parts of it I do like. Anyway, been feeling like I'm in the middle of some art funk that came up on me suddenly, hopefully it passes soon.

Autumn Walk (unfinished)

Just a couple color experiments that might remain unfinished. I'd been wanting to do something with a more... "impressionist" set of colors but the colors are coming out muddier than I want. And the brush strokes don't really add a lot yet. I'll need to work more at creating a style that is satisfying to look at and has all the bright colors I want from painting.

Easy Revenge

Just felt like sketching Himeno out of the Chainsaw Man manga. Sigh...

Anyway, the sketch here is kinda rough and fast but I kinda wanna explore making more sketchy coloring and painting that could go with my pencil lines. But I think my pencil lines don't quite fit with my rough painting style that well. I'll have to try more experiments to maintain this sorta speed without killing the colors with too many sketchy lines.

Signalis (fanart)

Signalis is a game that's coming out pretty soon, made by one creator. I've had my eye on it for a while as it's a combination survival horror, science fiction, with a cool looking leading lady cyborg. It's basically like 90% of the things I really like so I wanted to draw a bit of fanart for the creator.

Shoot guys, sorry I missed a post yesterday. Kinda lost track of time and space and stuff. Anyway, here's a character that's kinda a result of just messing around. The pose came first and then I started building a story around it based on what I felt like drawing. And that turned out to be some cyborg parts and a warm hoodie. The rest writes itself!

Anyway, that's it for New York Comic-con. But I'm still gonna be away from my apartment for a few more days. Gonna take some time to be with my folks and then drive back. Despite how rough it's been in places, it's been good to get out here. I love this con, even if I'm starting to feel my age when I go to it.
