Analog Horror girl is probably one of my most popular characters and yet I think she has the LEAST concrete story behind her. Maybe it's better that way. I just know that she has a very slight build. Is more chill than her appearance lets on. Has big headphones.

So anyway, I'll be at NYCC soon. Hopefully I'll find some time to make some fresher content. I'm kinda stressing out in a weird way. I feel like I shouldn't be but I'm way overthinking the final packing.

Chainsaw Man Redraw Sketch

Followers might know I'm a pretty big fan of Chainsaw Man. Tatsuki Fujimoto, the author, is a singular talent. But I think, beyond the violent parts of it, I think what he captures best are these surprising small character moments. And This one tiny panel in the latest issue caught my eye.

I just felt like redrawing it for fun and upped the "cute" factor by 10.

Anyway, driving has gone well so far. A little long but no real problems. Basically just an excuse to catch up on podcast...

I'll be honest, I don't get it either...

I just wanted to draw something for funsies before I leave on my comic convention trip. Seemed like a good excuse to do something cosplay related!

This one came out pretty nice, I really like how the rendering on the latex came out. It's not 100% realistic but the effect looks good. Anyway, I finished this piece a little while ago, and the commissioner requested a fun little alt. Something to help JoBeth here pass the time.

Actually... most of my posts prooobably won't be about horror stuff. But I'm sure to draw Analog Horror Girl a few more times before this month is through. It's October, the best time of year for artists to reveal they love horror and scary things. So there's gonna be more of that from me. But not exclusively horror for the time being.

That said, next week I've gotta prep to go to New York Comic Con and it's probably gonna take most of my days. Hopefully it goes well. It should go well!...

Finished that pic! I'd been meaning to for a while now. I still feel like I could fix it up a lot or do it better if I started over but at some point I just gotta call a piece done. Especially one that's just kinda... chill like this. It's kinda got the vibes that I like in my work. Something simpler but with a lot of shadow depth. It creates a mood that I generally like a lot. I should do it some more now and then.

Cyberware (unfinished)

Definitely in a "cyberpunk" mood this week thanks to Edgerunners. But here's a sketch that I was messing around it and didn't finish. I actually started lineart on it but I was really disappointed with how the lineart was going so I stopped. The sketch has a nice vibe to it, even though it's clearly unfinished. I think the rough sketch lines sorta add to the mood and the style. It just wasn't translating very well when I was cleaning it up.

Yeah, I think Ash is a more fun character when she's a shy and embarassed about stuff. It's a little more relatable! I'm sure she's pretty sex positive and far from prudish but I think she's also the kinda person that doesn't talk about it a lot. If she's enjoying something kinky, she definitely doesn't want anyone knowing about it. The exact opposite of her mom in that sense.

Okay, so the Cyberpunk 2077 anime is preeeettttty good so far. Good chance I'm gonna end up binging this surprisingly quickly. I just had to draw the main character, David at least once.

A friend noted that they really enjoy this sorta hard graphical style from me, and I like it too. But it can be pretty difficult to pull off.

I didn't have the opportunity to make any new (good) drawings the last few days. I've spent most of this time coordinating and fixing up the apartment. If you've never heard of her, don't worry. I just saw the Game Grumps play this game called Dog of Bay and I knew I was gonna end up drawing Beth sometime. Might as well be now while I'm stuck in this hotel room.

Unfortunately the move isn't as smooth as I had hoped. Nothing went wrong on my end, but the apartment just wasn't in an acceptable state so I'm currently in a holding pattern with all my stuff stowed in the car. Here's hoping that by the time you read this, some more progress ...

At the time of this writing, it's 4:30 am on a Sunday morning and I think it's time to unplug my PC so I can figure out how to stuff it into a box for travel. Just gotta wrap it up all nice and safe.

Another commission from last month, while I was raising funds to help with the move. This one is a character I've drawn a few time before for a long time patron and friend Bast. Veronique is an assassin with a LOT of drill hair curls and a haughty attitude. And whenever I draw her, I feel like I have to relearn how to draw frills and everything.

She's fun. And I was happy to revisit drawing her again. I hope I've improved at drawing those frills and heels though... They still give me so...
