New Comic Preview: LAMPLIGHT

Hi folks! Surprise--I'm debuting a brand-new comic, and you're getting an early look!

I've written a fun/creepy little short story for October, and I'll be *attempting* to post a page a day for the next month as my Inktober challenge. It's about a 31-page story, so it'll be complete in just about one month if all goes to plan.

I'm planning to release each page early for patrons, so today you're getting a two-fer :)

Crooked Mile updates!

Hello folks,

I am ALWAYS saying this, aren't I, but I truly apologize for the delay in updates! 

I had a bit of a bleh few weeks and couldn't face posting new pages. Sometimes I just don't like anything I write or draw and all I want to do is hide under a rock :)

However, I do HAVE completed pages ready to go--it's just a matter of not being self-defeating and actually hitting the "post" button. So, I gritted my teeth and scheduled the next several weeks' worth of posts...

Why is it so hard for me to remember to post regularly?! I onno. Someone be my brain for me.

Anyhoo, here's this week's comic plus an early look at next week's! At last, we have the real name of The FOO, and I can shelve *one* of the many plates I've been spinning for the last several years. *phew*

I am so sorry for the long absence. I started yet another new job over the summer, so I've been juggling two jobs, Kickstarter fulfillment, and working on the new graphic novel. 

But since it's been so long, I've got lots of news...

Apologies I didn't manage to give you a preview of these last few pages. My perfectionism was raging out of control because of being so close to the end...I just couldn't get myself to stop tinkering.

Then when I *finally* thought I was done last night, my husband helpfully (*grr*) pointed out a perspective problem that made me have to redo a whole panel, which had a cascading effect that made me redo several more panels. SIGH.

Here we go, guys! We're in the conclusion of the story for real now...eek! 

I hope it has the feel I was going for. I think when you sit down and read the book in a sitting, it's going to work. I'm just worried that after two years of slooowly reading it, it's going to feel like a letdown!

Ninecrow Preview Pages!

Hi friends! 

Sorry for the dry spell on preview pages! I'm just utterly swamped between trying to wrap Ninecrow up, doing the sketches for The Puzzling Fate of Millicent Graves, and looking for work again (sigh). 

Now that we're so close to the end, I've been thinking that the last few pages will have a much better impact if I can post them in one or two batches, instead of page by page. I think the slow pace has definitely changed the feel of the story...

Big News!

Hi folks! So, I finally got the official okay to share some very good news...

I found a publisher for the graphic novel I posted about earlier this year! AND they made it a two-book deal! Whoohoo!! 

I got the deal in June, but it's taken this long for the contract to actually be finalized--which tells you a lot about the publishing industry right there. SIGH.

Oof! I'm not even going to look to see how long it's been since I posted a preview :( Shame on me. It's been a rough summer, that's all I can say! 

I'm back in the saddle now, though--lots of finished pages ready to go. And I'm so excited about the upcoming chapters in both Crooked Mile and Ninecrow! Lots of fun stuff coming up (okay, maybe "fun" isn't quite the right word for Ninecrow...especially the next few chapters, now that we're closing in on the end...don't say I didn't war...

Thank you so much for your patience with the long gaps between preview posts these days! I started a new job in June, and it has really thrown me for a loop. MUCH more demanding than I thought it was going to be. Making it a bit tough to keep up on everything! 

Thankfully I've managed to stick pretty close to my twice-weekly post schedule for Ninecrow, but I'm not finishing pages with enough of a lead to give you an early look most of the time :(
