Today I want to share something a bit different: developmental sketches and designs that I used for "Empires: The Ace of Spades". These are designs I came up with years ago to support the development of my sci-fi action universe, and while some of them did get used in the "furry" version of the comic they were always intend for the eventual relaunch into a much broader universe with the original alien setting.

Immediately after my dog, Sadie, was put to rest, I drew some doodles of her final moments. I had three other dogs before Sadie but I had *never* been there for them when they died; I was always away somewhere else when they passed away. This was the first time I got to be there and it left a profound impact on me, especially since she had been so meaningful to me in life for 13 years (which was also the longest I'd ever had a dog).

Regular readers know I had a significant loss in the family recently. I have a few Doodles posts pre-loaded but my "BOHICA Blues Downrange!" comics ran out. I'll be going back to work Monday and at the same time I'll try to re-load a few more comics.
I've also found some good stuff from the past that I'd like to put here as well. Classic Comics will also resume as well, and there'll be more character sketches as well.

Not a bad convention! The convention was held last weekend, over the 24tth and 25th of August. I got to mix with a lot of creative types and I actually had something that was all my own to sell at my booth this year! Last year all I had was the "6x6" comics you see displayed here to the left. In one of them, I wrote a story and another guy (JT Millstead) did the art. In another, someone else wrote a story (Jake Scholl) and I did the art.
