Steampunk VTT Icons

Hey all you brilliant people. In the process of spinning up my next RPG campaign idea I'm working on a full -steampunk- overhaul of the Foundry VTT ui -- Soon I'll have a bunch of stuff in that vein for you all. But step one was coming up with some icons for skills.

"Some" quickly became "A bunch", which turned into "A Lot" and currently sits at 108 of them - mostly because of OCD and the bottom rows of this graphic not being full

-- Enjoy

Deluxe Steampunk Token Frames

Hello everybody  - Things have been quiet of late, so I have been as well. However the last few days brought with them a flood of activity.

Big thing #1 -- I've been contracted to do a gaggle of illustrations for another PARANOIA book and not just the covers this time but many pics for the insides as well. More information on that when I get the proper security clearances

Big Thing #2 -- I had a meeting with the folks that run Valore Studios - the tabletop streaming cadre ...

Dungeons of Discordia Ep2 "Pack Tactics"

We suffered some technical issues and the loss of a player to schedule conflicts  but in the end we finally got to play episode two of my livestream show Dungeons of Discordia. In this opening fight the players encounter a lone dwarf fending off a pack of gnolls.

Even down a player the party made very short work of the Hyena-men (thanks to the Wizard), killing three and driving off the other two. Bifurr the dwarf then offered to show them how to get to "Delverhome" a safe place in...

Lost Catacombs of the Blood Queen

Last night I launched a new streaming show on twitch - "Dungeons of Discordia" a high fantasy campaign I cooked up about classic-style dungeon delving in a world that is ALL dungeon all the time (using the Pathfinder for Savage Worlds rules set)

The stream had a few hiccups but we got it sorted in the end and everyone seemed to have a good time. I'll post a link here to the video when it gets edited and put up on youtube. We are aiming to make this a weekly show, and I'll be posting al...

A Night on Willow Hill

You have all been invited to Cypress Island, the home of A.J. "Savage Jack" Turnbull -- noted explorer and industrialist -- in celebration of his 70th birthday.

On the surface this is to be a weekend to celebrate the fascinating life and adventures of New Orleans' most interesting man. Secretly you know that all is not well. There are rumors of A.J.'s failing health and whispers of...

NOLA

Due to the help of "mysterious benefactors" I will be taking my first 'vacation' in 15 years.

24 hours from now I will be on a plane for New Orleans with wife and child. I will be in town all day Saturday (January 25th) spending way too much time and pocket change at CafĂ© Du Monde -- but if I also sign some of your books I think that makes it a business expense. Come say "Hi" or  "laissez le bon temps rouler" as the saying goes...

The next day we board a cruise ship for 7...

To the ordinary people of Victorian society, there are no such things as monsters. It is a dawning age of science and enlightenment. Such old-world superstitions are to be laughed at as the humbug they truly are. - Others know better.

The monsters of legend and the tales told in cheap...

Shipping

The art print sale is doing very well -- especially since we got permission to start adding various prints of my #girlgenius work into the mix. So well in fact that we are running out of packing supplies and had to order more. A nice problem to have.

I was digging into my art folders to make sure we had all the original files of my other prints properly backed up to multiple locations and I ran across some of my steampunk aethership art I was working on and never did anything with. Th...

What the Future Brings

"We are all interested in the Future, for that is where you and I will spend the rest of our lives" - Ed Wood

Hey all - I've been quiet but busy for sometime now and I thought I'd take a moment to stop and talk about what I've been up to, and what may lay in the future. First up I've written up the Tesla Rangers for the Savage Worlds RPG and it's being published in a collection of  mini-settings later this year.  So if you've ever been interested in the wonder and heroics of ...

Mars Needs Women

We are having a cell-phone based crisis at the Wright Lair and need to scrape together an influx of cash greater than normal to purchase some new communication equipment.  To that end here is a new art print I've had in mind for some time (I believe it's been in my sketchbook for at least two years).

It will be available over in my webstore later this week, along with a sale on all my stuff. But I thought you kind folks might like getting an early peak at it.

Central Casting "The Mage"

I've been playing with the idea of making a deck of art cards. The concept would be each card is a classic NPC type you'd see in a roleplaying game. Last night I sat down and made a list of 52 archetypes - Today I took a swing at illustrating one of them... The Mage

I got to do another cover for a PARANOIA adventure. This time they asked for some Troubleshooters in a "Charlie's Angels" pose.

Ships of the Line

This is a new piece of art i did originally as a handout for a home brew RPG that I'll be running soon - but I've been convinced that it should also be sold as an art print, so that will be coming soon.

For those interested in the game - I'm hoping  to be making recordings of the sessions and make them available as a podcast. I'd prefer to do it as a video stream but that's a much more involved setup. Maybe down the road.

Tales of the Tesla Rangers

ok If you've spent anytime following my work this one probably isn't new to you but I thought I'd throw it into the mix to square the selection options. Tesla Rangers is all about the brave men and women of the 1880's that fought in the robot rebellion and helped retake the wired west.

Knackers

Another week, Another comic idea splash page.

This one is called "Knackers". The pitch here is Goblins, Elves, Trolls, and other fairyland creatures are driven from their various homelands, and to America, where they try to fit into the New York criminal underground during 1920's prohibition.

Deadlands Speed Sketch

A quick (20 min) speed sketch I did to describe what I thought would make a nice cover for a new Deadlands rpg book. Nothing will probably come of it - but I thought you guys might like it.

Kronos

Another splash page for a sketch collection I'm working on. The elevator pitch for this one is 'Conan' and 'Harry Flashman' must team up to survive in a world sized clockwork dungeon.

Haunting Work

I'm currently working this board for a game publisher. This was version two (rejected) - tossed it out to take a new pass at the perspective, but I liked the detailing here and wanted to show it off.

Fire and Ice

Hey folks time to break away from the workstation and talk Fire, Flood, and Coffee. ...

Things got really busy the last few months and I've only now had the time to stop, and take a breather before diving back into the inkwell.  Looking back at my posts I see we have a lot to catch up on. I'm going to be brief and get through it as quick as I can.

Late January we had a huge disruption here . It was as if the world was on fire. Literally. My house caught on fire.

Tiles Tiles Tiles

Thanks again people for helping me keep the lights on in my art caves.  One of the itches I've been able to scratch thanks to you is the making of gaming tile art. I like to print these out and glue them to cork board squares to use on my gaming table.

You can see some examples in this Google Photos folder

Another piece I'm working on that I thought you patrons might like to see. Still 'in progress' as you can guess.  This is not my first Bride of Frankenstein pin-up. The other however has been out of print for awhile now and I thought it'd be fun to make a new one in time (I hope) for Halloween.

My inspiration here is mashing up Alphonse Mucha, the late victorian art nouveau poster artist w...
