Mimic Effects V4 (Blender 4.3 Update)

A Mimic effect made using Blender 3.4

This includes the spike and tendril variations, which are both controlled by geometry node modifiers.

The tendril variation has fully procedural tendril animation which is controlled by its location.

The spike variation is controlled using an armature, which is more controllable with manual animation.

*This will only work in Blender 3.4+*

Mimic Effects V4

Particle Trails (Blender 3.4 Buffer Hack)

This is trail/simulation hack for Blender 3.4. This uses a dependency loop between two objects in order to make dynamic effects over time.

The trails are pieces of geometry that interpolate between the particle sim's positions over time.

The simulation hack is very buggy. It updates every time the object does, not necessarily every frame.

It will not work with motion blur, and hopefully will be replaced by proper simulation techniques in Blender 3.5.

Realtime Material Pack V2

Please use Blender 3.3 for the product to work properly

This material pack is an assortment of various shaders I have made over the last few months, along with some useful nodegroups like tri-planar mapping. These materials are made to be efficient enough for realtime workflows in Eevee, but without compromising quality for Cycles.

These materials are marked as assets, so they are ready to be used in the asset browser.

Shader Nanotech Effect (Blender 2.8+)

Using procedural materials, any object can be formed using liquid nanotech. This effect works in realtime in the Eevee render engine, but it also works in Cycles as well. To control the effect, animate the object "Control Empty" because the effect works according to the proximity from that object.

Please keep in mind that the armor suit is only meant to demonstrate the effect and that only the front half of it is modeled.

Realtime Shader Displacement for Eevee (V4)

The file has a few objects with the effect ready to go, but you can copy the modifiers/shaders to any object. Please be aware of the objects poly count, as it is arrayed several times.

Using a geometrynodes and a nodegroup, realtime shader displacement in Eevee is now possible. By layering a mesh repeatedly, the texture can be displayed in three dimensions. Procedural textures can lag, so using image textures is prefered.
