2024-07-20 09:05:54 +0000 UTCHello! I just have to say, I have watched EVERY reaction to this film, and yours is my favorite! So emotional, so real, and true... I just loved it! Your reaction to the original Top Gun (1986) was great, too! I was 10 when the first one came out. It's been in my top 5 movies since then. I waited 36 years for this sequel, and it did NOT disappoint! Top Gun: Maverick (2022) is now my #1 favorite! Before shooting this film, Tom Cruise told the cast that making a sequel to Top Gun is like trying to hit a bullet with a bullet! They did it! They made it even better than anyone knew it could be! Check out the flight training Tom put the cast through. Then the water emergency testing the Navy put the actors through before they would let them fly in the F-18s. The interviews with the actors during their press tour are great, too! All the actors were so perfectly cast in this movie, especially Miles Teller, as Rooster! Penny Benjamin was Maverick's old flame (not Charlotte "Charlie" Blackwood) from the first movie, but she was never seen, just mentioned by Goose and then his wife, Carole. That's how they were able to give Maverick a love interest with deeper roots than a hot fling with someone he just met that didn't mean anything. When Maverick told Penny that he had to fly in the mission, they needed a woman who really loved Maverick to anchor down their relationship and to care about what happens to him. My favorite line of the whole movie was Rooster's last line, when Maverick thanks Rooster for saving his life. Then Rooster says "It's what my Dad would have done".... ugh, it just breaks me every time! Thanks for the awesome reactions to both Top Gun movies! Can't wait to see what you have coming next!
