As for the panties reveal, yeah, I understand the appeal of the unknown. I've come to appreciate the element of mystery in the past few years, as it calls upon your own imagination to work its stuff. Schrodinger's panties aside, if I were king of the universe, I would reveal the panties at the very, very end of the story so that readers can enjoy the mystery ride but then finally have a definitive answer to avoid endless and fruitless debate. That might be a hot take, but if I never knew about the panties I don't know how I'd sleep at night.
