[Salvos] 678. Fake Fairy (Removed for KU)

(Removed for KU)

Comments

When I saw how cruelly he treated the 3rd legion demons, I was like "kill him please, slowly if possible", but when I saw how his girlfriend died in the corruption accident and then Tera just threw him into the void without even bothering to find out the proper facts, I started feeling kinda sorry for him. Yes, he's lazy and incompetent and thus contributed to the disaster, but Tera turned out to be a very unsympathetic and cruel leader not much different from Regnorex, and they might both end up at the wrong side of Salvos. I wonder, if he ends up being an ally or even a companion of Salvos, how would the other demons react? His fan base is not that deep.

This is actually funny in a cartoonish kind of way: Salvos: "Hello Hartia, how doing?" Hartia: "Me big powerful demon grrrrr snap claw!" Salvos: "Ooooh, poor little fairy hurt in the feels?" Hartia: "nnnmbwwaaaaah, make tears stop!!" :)

Talk no jutsu!

I think it goes in phases; there are times when she basically spends entire nights practicing and developing her magic, plus the times of intense studying in the Mavos academy, and then there are the chaotic times where there's constant action of some kind chained together so she doesn't have the time to even stop and think about anything, let alone study and think carefully about something. Basically, since her apotheosis I don't think she had any downtime at all, and between that and her return from the Bloodied Gulf it was a constant chain of events that required either action or interaction. Not really, though - there was a pretty long period of travel across the lake of fire after Samuel left, and she didn't really take advantage of it. I think she un-learned that lesson that made her enrol in the Mavos academy, but since she also learns well under pressure in battles, she did acquire some useful skills, but if she were to tackle the corruption issue, I think she would either need some in-extremis thinking, because that's how she got all of her grand skills in the first place, or she would have to do the kind of gradual practice and skill refinement that got her to learn the nebular creation skill.

I'm currently re-reading Salvos and I realized that I was under the misconception that Salvos relies mostly on instincts. All throughout her journey from birth to the mortal realm and back, whenever she had downtime she would study her powers, the powers she saw others use and develop them. From developing her magic in the first place, creating her blue flames, her reading through every book she could get leading up to her first encounter with the Devil and her whole arc in Mavos Academy, she was always studious. She decides on instinct if something is feasible or not, that's true. But she very methodically develops her options and instincts, her foundation for her decisions. It's only now, back in the Netherworld that she doesn't really have time to study anymore and she has to rely on instincts to use her powers and not just decide where to use them.

It would be funny if he was a fake fairy that was brainwashed to think he was a fairy. Thus made a gs from false memories. But I know this can’t be so.

Salvos has a skill that few have both in the story and in reality: the ability to fend for herself. Her mindset allows her to peel back the convoluted logic of the social norm and perceive things as they really are. She doesn't get love because it is a purely social construct. She knows that if she levels up and develops her power, new paths of action will open up. She knows that people, companions are a resource and source of power like magic, skills, divinity, corruption, artifacts, knowledge and so on.

"Harris asked" -> Hartia asked

What I particularly like about the [Truth Divination] episodes is that they all result in some sort of self-realization progress by Salvos; not just empathy, but understanding of her own feelings through insight into others. I love it.

Danijel Turina

Not only that; if she explains the true nature and origins of corruption to Hartia, because Tera obviously did no such thing, he might gain a whole new perspective, and understand not only why Regnorex's plan is suicidal and will essentially repeat what happened with Tera's failed construction plans and Samuel's idea about breaking out through the outer bounds of Nexeus, but he might also understand why Tera was doing what she was doing, what killed his friends, and so on. We might be getting on to something here, other than her just killing shit to level.

Danijel Turina

Her grand skills are not on cooldown; that's excellent, but she better not waste them because the cooldown is now twice as long. I like the way she approaches things - talk to the enemies, try to convert them into allies, focus on the actual beings in real soul-to-soul talk, and not just rush into shit. I think even her companions don't get that about her, because they always have their own ideas about what's important, and she's "weird" for not having the same priorities. Right now, Haec and others think she's wasting time and slowing them down, because they have "important" things to do, rolling their eyes like good practical folks tolerating the weird scatterbrained Salvos. In reality, without Salvos their probability of liberating the slave demons and winning the war is exactly zero, so they might as well show some respect, especially since they saw her do things like navigate the folds of Nexeus under a nuclear strike by the Beast, and beat Fairy Queen's Architect at space magic.

What can he even do with the knowledge; take it to his grave? :)

Danijel Turina

I dont know, should she just like that explain her skills to him?

Użytkownik Przeciętny

I like where this is going; the [Truth Divination] chapters are always great. But shouldn't it rather be "fake demon"? :)

Danijel Turina

>I pleaded with him as his eyes went wide. Hartia stared at me, almost unable to speak. A small teardrop slid down his cheek, and he placed a hand on his chest. >“What… what is this?” (Stand proud Hartia. You're strong.) JJK's brainrot has completely fucked with my head damnit. 💀

Fr, [Truth Divination] is the true GOAT skill of this series. All wins, no losses. A win streak to continue until eternity.

Ihaxlikenoob

I am really exited to see what hartia does here

Atsuke

Harris's should be Hartia's, and what's it like should be what it's like.

Atsuke

Salvos uses empathy... It's super effective!

Azrie

Thanks for the chapter! With this Savos will be able to tell him the Reggie is probably going to end up creating another voidspace. That might convince him to work with her.
