Unfortunately, I need to talk about something serious as well. I don't really like talking about the business side of being a writer too much, but on May 14th, something changed at Amazon that cut my Kindle Unlimited borrows by more than 50%. This number is represented by KENP which stands for "Kindle Normalized Pages" or how many pages people are reading. This number accounts for about half of my monthly income as an author with sales being the other half.

Here is what my KENP chart (sans exact numbers) looks like as of today:

For over 6 years this number has been consistent. Even as sales fluctuate I could rely on this to be stable because I have so many books.

This has not affected sales (thank god) and those are flat, making this whole matter even more suspicious to me. Between the plunge in my borrowed KENP and normal/flat sales, I have lost a third of my income daily since May 14th.

I have contacted Amazon but have not had any helpful answers about this issue. Not even an explanation for what could be occurring here. Some but by no means all erotica authors are reporting this problem starting on this exact date.

This has taken the wind out of my sails and I have a lot to figure out since this seems to be the new status quo for my catalog.

I am trying to power through it, but I appreciate your patience this month and probably into next month. I value your support so much, it is helping get me through this, and I promise that no matter what happens this Patreon will NOT become me whining about the business side of things. This was just so sudden and I knew it was affecting my writing so I thought I should report on it here.
