App Users Beware: Price Increase in November
Added 2024-08-12 16:01:21 +0000 UTCI read this email from Patreon first thing when I got up and I managed to get half the details wrong! I've edited the details to correct them!
I hate to relay bad news, but Patreon sent out notifications today that Apple is going to be adding fees onto all Patreon subscriptions done through the app. It's a significant increase for Apple app users of 30% but ONLY for NEW MEMBERS. I do not know if this will affect future custom pledges. If you make them using the app, I would assume it does
Web users are fine. There was no notice of an increase for them. This does not take effect until November and again, contrary to my original version, ONLY Apple users and only NEW MEBERS.

The changes (starting from November) affect only iOS app users, and only for new pledges (if you have an active pledge already in place there's no price increase). And it's 30% above the normal price, unless the creator decides to cover it. Are you sure you understood the changes well? Could be some regional difference, but it seems pretty big.
