What's next?

Hey everyone, I wanted to give you an update about the next Episode of NBP as well as where we go after NBP is concluded. 

NBP. As usual nothing changes about the next Episode of Nursing Back to Pleasure, the ETA is still 15th of next month and so far work is going good so I don't see why there would be any delays but I'll keep you posted about the status in future posts. Episode 14 will feature about three endings but if all goes well it might as well be the Final Episode in the series. Let me explain why... Around Episode 10 I thought about starting "early" endings in the same way as Dusklight Manor but I decided that it's not the right way to go. If for example the first "early" ending was the one with Charlotte and Lisa in Episode 10 then those who would seek this ending would miss Episodes 11,12 and 13 if that ending came in Episode 10. So I decided to instead move the endings to the actual end of the series, that way everyone gets to play most of the content without missing much. Each of the endings will feature about 80-100 images plus adult animations, that means that if you are interested in only one of the endings there won't be too much content to play through but if you're looking to see all of them you won't be disappointed.

Choices vs content. During the development of NBP I tried implementing new choice based systems and character choices but they more or less failed, on one hand people asked for more choices and on the other they asked for more content and it's next to impossible for a indie project to satisfy both to the fullest extent. If you have a 300 image Episode and you introduce 4 choices with 50 images each and out of those 4 choices you're only able to pick two because they go head to head you instantly miss 100 images worth of content, around 30 minutes worth of gameplay. Add to that events exclusive to each character depending on your relationship with her and you get a strange ratio between choices and content. I tried balancing the two the best I could and I think I did a decent job of it.

What's next? As always with the end of one project a new one begins, considering your suggestions and my personal taste and wish for improvement, a story base was already formed as well as new improvements planned out such as post work which will greatly increase the quality of the game. A few characters are already completed with possible major changes to come as well as a bunch of locations. However, work has not yet started since NBP is not completed so I can't give you an ETA for the first Episode. I really enjoyed working on post work for Brentwood Motel, sound atmosphere and image editing and I decided to implement those in the new project. I also heard you about fully animated games so we won't go there yet, instead we will get a mix of the two with some basic animations as well as still images and go from there.
