What a beautiful and hauntingly dark song. The technical prowess of the artists in this music project is insane. The lead singer is amazing as well as the drummer. It was super interesting to break this down. Buckle up everyone, this is heavy and powerful.
Let me know what you think!

@Jamie I just needed to say thank you for introducing me to these guys. As I said before, this isn’t normally what I listen to….but now 😍 Just finished listening to The Price (which seems to be their most popular one, but gotta start somewhere… oh just realized you mentioned a couple *scrolling scrolling*) Anywho: showed bf and he too is smitten. Thank you 😁

2025-02-20 09:36:54 +0000 UTCI love metal, though I'm quite new to it. I don't classify myself as a hard core metal fan, as the genres like Deathcore and Black Metal are beyond my understanding. This, though, this was something else. The vocals were outstanding and the band is tight. I'm not a goosebump type, but, I got goosebumps listening to this and the despair was almost palpable. It won't be the last time I listen to Leprous. Thanks, Jamie, for the introduction.

2025-02-19 14:30:02 +0000 UTCThank you so much for that! Great breakdown and analysis. As for the meaning, I'm not sure but I get a sense of powerlessness or the dread of having to face something over and over again that you can't fully control. People often mention being a slave to their addiction, for example. Just a guess. As for more examples of his singing, he has several sing-throughs posted where you can get a good look at his technique. Another favorite song of mine that he does a sing-through for is "Below." I would also recommend "Atonement" and "Over the Top," where he does sing slightly lower at times too. I don't want to fill this up with a bunch of links but you can just search "Leprous sing-through" on YouTube. Thanks again. Cheers!
