Gaye, thanks for having us look at this! I feel this is a gateway drug to CHESS THE MUSICAL!

I knew Björn and Benny had moved on quite a bit after ABBA, but had never heard anything from their later work. Quite surprising, really! Honestly not really what I would look for, but still very interesting. I said it before, and I'll say it again: a normal day is at least 8 hours too short for me... 😉 Edit: corrected some weird wording...

If you watch it again, keep an eye out for the blond woman in the chorus behind her. She knows what she is listening to and is very emotionally invested, just by listening. It was interesting to me that, before I came here, I watched your reaction to Ren and Vincent's Tale. Two very different types of performance, but both have what draws me to a song. That's the ability to emotionally connect to what you are singing and to convey that connection. You called it in both, I think, being a conduit conveying that emotion to those that are listening. I don't care what the style of music is, if that emotional contact is there, I'm in. Next month? A very different artist, with a very different style. Thank you so much for this great reaction, Tim.

Oooh! Thank you, Gaye ❤️ Been waiting for this. Tim, I think you asked if this was from a musical? (I might also have short term memory…) Anywho: The song comes from the 1995 Swedish musical «Kristina från Duvemåla». composed by Benny Andersson with lyrics by Björn Ulvaeus, based on Vilhelm Moberg’s novels about Swedish emigrants moving to America in the 19th century. As for Chess. I am so lucky to have seen Chess with its original cast - in London. I have also seen it here in Oslo couple years ago. Would love to see some Chess here.😍

These days she mostly sings folk music and collaborate a lot with björn and benny still

It's from Kristina från Duvemåla following Swedish emigrants to America in the mid 1800. There is an English concert version too called Kristina at Carnegie hall. This is from a concert they did in the area where the in the story Kristina (played by Helen) and her family settled, she had already played Kristina in the musical for years in Sweden.
