A great performance that is just Aurora singing with Silja singing and playing guitar is "It Happened Quiet" from a "Live at the Current" session in 2018 or 2019. There is also a live set from KEXP in Iceland from around the same time. Last November, Aurora performed a new KEXP session (in San Francisco, near me!) that features songs from her most recent album, What Happened to the Heart. You can see and hear Thea and Amelie beautifully in that concert.

2025-08-14 03:43:50 +0000 UTCThis concert was the culmination of a day of surprises for Aurora. I won't write about them; it's so lovely to watch the documentary and see everything as it unfolds. As far as I know, Aurora knew that she'd be performing at the end of the day, but she didn't know that it would be in the forest near her childhood home (her parents are in the audience), and the choir was a surprise. (Their white shirts do stand out very prominently, which is exactly why they all took off their jackets as they stepped forward and started singing with her.) The beautiful female voice you asked about is Silja Sol. You can see her only briefly; she is wearing all black. Silja used to perform live with Aurora, and there are many magical performances where the video footage features her more prominently. Silja left to pursue a solo career, and the gorgeous female voices you hear singing live with Aurora now are Amelie and Thea. (Somebody more knowledgeable than I am, please post their surnames!)

I hope you get around to doing the other one in that recommendation because it’s another artist who transcends societal norms with frankly unbelievable range. I love her message ❤️ I’m not very good at using the right terminology - I only know how I feel when I listen to her (or other artists that I like and enjoy).
